Also explained im pretty happy with everything off the park but the final piece of the puzzle is an entertaining winning team on the park

Good to see that I'm not the only one who answered "A better team" as much as possible.
The ticket office question was odd and, although I've never dealt with them, I did reply that they have an excellent reputation for resolving problems (based on what I've read here).
It was also extremely obvious that the decision to move the singing section to the Famous Five Lower next season has already been made.

Yes, costs more than it brings in. Closing the ticket office doesn’t mean we stop selling tickets.
The physical ticket office likely sell very few tickets with people turning up in person to buy them to justify numerous members of staff, the running and upkeep of the building etc.
The people that go to the ticket office would still likely buy online or have someone help them buy online. The only money you’d be losing is people who physically turn up to the ticket office and would either stop going completely or go less because they simply will only buy from a physical ticket office.
I’d be very, very surprised if that amount would be greater than the amount we spend on running a physical ticket office.
We’d also be able to bring pods back on a match day if we really felt like we needed to which would be a lot cheaper to run than the full ticket office.

Being played behind closed doors.
If the experiment of a singing section in the Famous Five during the womens Derby is anything to go by, it's clearly not working. Supposedly fully booked, but only 150 turned up.
The question shouldn't be where should a singing section be placed. They should be asking who would be willing to move their seat into that area. Otherwise they will be left trying to fill empty seats.

We’ve got plenty areas in the stadium they can work from if they don’t need a public counter which would be a lot cheaper than having a dedicated building.
If we own the building then there’s even a chance of selling it and making a bit of cash out of it.

I'd imagine 99% of respondents would have answered in the same way, poor player quality, poor recruitment etc. I did as well.
I just hope the club don't discount the feedback as being purely down to a bad run of results.
Bar a few exceptions, the quality of player and recruitment has been woeful for several seasons now - both Managers and players. The comments of fans reflect that, not just the fact that we've lost 6 out of 7.
We are poor in defence, awful in midfield and can't score goals. We have not had a player who can effectively strike a dead ball since Mallan left. The list of deficiencies goes on.
Do the club really think incentives on ST's will miraculously boost ST sales when the product on the pitch is rank rotten? Worrying if true.

Wouldn't surprise me if Ron and his son dismantled the very efficient ticket office operation and replaced it with a lightweight, inexperienced and inconsistent process.

This has been well debated on here but having a singing section in an otherwise empty stand was crazy. Section 43 worked because it encouraged others around it to join in. Fans who were sitting elsewhere could move to that area to fill any empty seats. Unlike an open terracing, allocated seating makes it all the more difficult.

They didn’t actually announce it was the singing section until it was sold out. You could see on the telly that people had bought tickets there not knowing it was the singing section.
All you have to do is look at Aberdeen and they’ve made the stand behind the goals unallocated so people can stand wherever they like and it’s pretty full on a regular basis. If Hibs did the same it would fill up as the season went on.

Could take a leaf out of Edinburgh Rugbys book. went to their standing section and it was well set out. Allocated spaces for each ticket. Enjoyed standing actually and would probably do it if Hibs had something similar.

I also liked the singers at the legends match but feel they were wasted as it was more a family event, we should really use them for the build up to the big games against the top 6 teams to get the place rocking before kick off but the club would need to stop blaring music over the top of them and the fans and drowning out the noise.

Gave the TO staff a glowing report, which they absolutely deserve. Every time I've had a problem they have fixed it quick smart and my experience of face to face dealings has always been of staff who are polite, personable and professional. Gave the food kiosks a bum review, only because they are so obviously under staffed.
Expressed my support for moving the singing section to the FF lower .... considering I've been banging the drum for that for years I could hardly have done otherwise.
That aside like everybody else my main theme was, a winning team on the park trumps everything else :aok:

Not that uncommon for cup games now. Been games this season and last where you couldn’t and where the Famous Five hasn’t even been open.
If they’re going to trial it then they need to do it for a proper game and not a friendly or something that people aren’t interested in.

Based on the survey, they've already decided to move it there. Whether that is a success or not will depend on finding sufficient numbers that haven't existed in any other location.

I don't think there's been any cup games recently where the Famous Five stand has been open which will then be why the fans in the east and west stands haven't been able to reserve their own seats.
For this game the Famous Five stand obviously will be open so I'd be quite surprised if season ticket holders don't have a period where they can book their own seat.

Is behind the goals location always the best ?
Rangers have emailed season ticket holders in the Broomloan Road stand to find out if there is an appetite for the Union Bears to be moved to a more central location.
The Ibrox side trialled the move in a Premier Sports Cup game against Queen of the South earlier this season but could turn it into a permanent switch if they get backing from the fans who currently sit there. The Union Bears currently sit in the BF1 section at the corner of the stand and many fans feel the atmosphere would be improved if they had a more central standing.

How many ticket office staff do Hibs employ, how much do they cost and is there a better way they could use the money?
Peter Kay doesn't have a ticket office and he's just sold millions of tickets for hundreds of shows over the next 3 years.
I can't remember the last time I used the ticket office, it must have been decades ago, so I'm not convinced that there's a huge need for it.
If it's just to sort out problems, then my first question would be why have there been so many that we need to pay folk to fix them and who/what caused them.
I'm not desperate for folk to lose their jobs, but if there's a better way to use our income, then we should.

You make some interesting points. Think we’ve got 2 full time staff, and probably additional staff at peak times/match days. No idea what it costs to run, but can’t be much less than £80k or so including rates. So potentially there is a cost saving if it was outsourced. Also at least 3 teams are now selling away tickets to Hibs, think we are doing this too
They could also probably use the office for something else or rent it out?
This would possibly mean increased fees for supporters. Any idea what the add on fee for the likes of Peter Kay is? Hibs probably think they can get a cut of this. You possibly only go to a concert once in a while, but I wouldn’t be happy paying a higher fee on a regular basis
Most concerts are sold ages in advance, so plenty time to sort issues out. Fans turn up at the last minute and want to get in. Still a lot of people pay and buy tickets from the office. There’s always a queue at TO on match days, so who’s going to help you?
They also do manual ticket runs for away season ticket holders too, unless they intend to do any with this
But for me the most important reason to have a TO, as it’s the only engagement I have with anyone at Hibs.

They would need trouble shooters on site for every match though given my and many others scanning issues prior to the rangers match when we were all pointed in the direction of the ticket office for the issues to be resolved
Correct me if Im wrong but on a seperate note, I cant remember much being said on here when the turnstyle operators were ‘culled’ and replaced by the electronic system
If there is a plan to do away with ticketing staff where does it stop, the club shop being online only ? That would affect me more personally as I tend to visit the shop more often as I like to try before I buy with an unhealthy knack of buying more than I intended too

I fully suspect that the time has come where the TO isn’t financially viable. If it doesn’t pay for itself, we should be getting rid of it.
Hopefully we could re-deploy the staff we have in there if there’s any vacant roles they’d be suitable for as they’re clearly well thought of. I’m like you though, I can’t remember the last time I used the TO for anything because there’s much easier options than physically going in.

I think I’ve had every away ticket posted to me for years now.
So you do use the TO. They print them off and post them to you
If they didn't arrive, who would you contact. They are very good at doing this
Customer service in my opinion is so important

Loads of people use it for collections on the day of the game as well. Not everybody wants to use their phone... or may have a problem with it on the day in which case it's a useful fall back option.

Ticketmaster charges can be eye-watering but Hibs currently sell match tickets without charging a fee and because it's digital, there's no postage.
I don't know the reasons for long queues at the ticket office before games when it's quicker and arguably more convenient to buy them online. They can't all have problems, can they?
Estimating the cost of employing the staff is impossible but it's always a lot higher than just their salaries.
As well as Employer’s National Insurance, there's Employers Liability Insurance and Employer’s pension contributions.
Then there's holidays to cover, sick pay, maternity maybe.
On top of that, there's heating and lighting and you've already mentioned rates.
It's a considerable expense and it needs to be justified.

Ive never used the ticket often but at the times I have Ive always been met with excellent service.
That would affect me more personally as I tend to visit the shop more often as I like to try before I buy with an unhealthy knack of buying more than I intended too
The shop is definitely needed and it undoubtedly makes money for the club. You don't need to try on a match ticket and most people don't want the hassle or expense of using the returns system.
I think there will always need to be a way of contacting the club if there are problems, but there's no real need to have paper tickets, even for away games.
I have no desperate desire to see the office closed, but I do think that the club is right to consider the need.

As previously stated if they're going to abolish the ticket office, the way that wheelchair users purchase tickets will have to be significantly overhauled.
As things stand at the moment I would be very much opposed to the ticket office being shut down.

Stop giving out 4 and 5 year contracts on crap players that would save a few quid instead off paying of hard working staff.

Yes but I don’t use the physical TO. I’d suspect we’ll be looking at getting rid of the physical office and moving them into the stadium where there would be no public facing counter or outsourcing it completely to someone like Ticketmaster. We’re obviously not going to stop having the ability to sell tickets.
My work used to have a physical reception desk where customers could come in. The more things started being done electronically, the less traffic was coming through the door and it no longer made financial sense to keep it open. So we now no longer have somewhere customers can come in to deal with something face to face, everything is done online or by phone. We reduced our costs because we didn’t have to employ as many staff as we would have had we kept it open. Thankfully we managed to redeploy staff into new roles that were coming up. This will be similar I’d imagine and hopefully wed manage to redeploy TO staff but we might not be able to.
If we do away with it people will be forced to adapt and do things electronically. And from looking at how this went at my work (whilst not selling tickets, the processes probably aren’t a million miles different), people will adapt to it. It will likely be better for Hibs financially if people do this and it’ll also be better for the environment which we seem to be big on.

It’s something that you should point out on the survey.
I’d be surprised if it makes any difference to whatever it is they’re planning to do but hopefully it’ll see them put steps in place to ensure you’re able to purchase your tickets easily.

Yeah I submitted my thoughts a few days ago and made it clear that the ticket office staff are an integral part of the club for me at the moment.
There's a lot of work that will be required if the plan is to get rid of the ticket office.
