Tomorrow after the Ayr game.
From a purely selfish perspective I'd love a trip to Queen's Park, Raith, Alloa, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Stirling Uni or Linlithgow.

18/19 was the last time we failed to reach at least the semi finals of the Scottish Cup - losing to Celtic in the quarter finals.

Drumchapel would be one I'd like.
Obviously it's all but a gimme on the park (famous last words) but it would also be a hell of a tie for a West of Scotland League team. I played Drumchapel back in their amateur days and they were a great side then both on and off the park.
It was a trip that was intimidating on the face of it back then, their park was slap bang in the middle of the scheme and 5 minutes before kick off just about every door opened and the crowd must have numbered hundreds. We played them the same day Scotland played Italy in a qualifier (1-1 I think) and they invited us to a pub to watch it. It was without doubt the scariest looking boozer I have ever seen from the outside but they couldn't have been more welcoming. A club I'm glad to see doing well.

the warning signs were there for hecky that day. Miserable submissive effort. Complete contrast to what we had been used to against the old firm in the previous few years.
we do seem to have had great consistency in the Scottish cup over the last decade (while winning very few of them of course)

Over the last 11 years prior to this season we've reached at least the semi finals of the Scottish Cup 8 times. The only times we haven't managed that were losses to Celtic, Hearts and Raith Rovers so really just one loss in there which would be considered as a shock.

Any lower league team away from home would be best.

Or let’s lose to StJohnstone in the semi final or even the final again because that’s acceptable because we made it there.
Getting to a semi final or final is meaningless if we don’t win it. The mentality at this club needs to be aiming to WIN cups, not just ‘a nice wee run’

The only thing we have going for us going into this game is Robbie Neilson.
This is a horrific draw for Ron Gordon as a bad result here will pile pressure on him and it’s hard to see any of the stuff required to win a derby anywhere in this Hibs squad.

Aye, it is because we are not paid several thousands of pounds a week to win football matches. Something that the team have barely done all season and don't look like doing anytime soon.

Same way they were going to ‘scud’ us in 2013 and same way they were going to ‘scud us’ when we were in the league below in 2016 ?
Evenly matched teams this season, both inconsistent and could go either way - it’ll be tight and I can’t wait for any derby at any age level. Lots of incentives and crowd getting behind them will be vitally important. Personally can’t wait for this game. January window crucial too.

If LJ isn't gone before then, getting knocked out the cup by Hearts will certainly see him reach the point of no return. It's a negative outlook but there's not a lot to be positive about right now is there? I can see us sitting in the bottom two or three in the league by then and failing to come close to selling out our tickets for the cup game.

Friday night would likely be the most popular slot amongst the fans should the game be moved for TV, so probably won’t be that.
Will go for an early Sunday to suck what joy they can out of the premier fixture in the draw instead.

There was a spell of 4 derbies in a row I think of night time derbies at Easter Road where we won all 4. Cup 2016 ( Feb,Tues 1-0), Cup 2017 ( Feb, Tues 3-1), League 2017 ( Oct Tues, 1-0) then League 2018 ( Mar, Fri 2-0). Absolutely brilliant nights all of them. Fans posting on here have zero impact on performances or results. Never have, never will.
It can eminate from the stands though. Fans are often said to be the "12th man" when right behind the side and roaring them on. We've seen it before. And the reverse can have an effect too. Nervousness and negativity can also impact on the players. Fans going into the game with the defeatest attitude can filter down. No evidence to suggest that negativity on here does not translate to negativity in the stands and, in turn, negative vibes impacting on the match. Saying it "never does, never will" is, imo disingenuous.

It's an awful draw. I'd rather an instantly forgettable exit away to the likes of Killie than a high profile home defeat to Hearts.

I don’t see it as a “bring it on” tie, I would’ve preferred Stirling Uni at home obviously. My issue is with those who have clearly shat it already and have us out of the cup. Mental. We are playing a Hearts side with a manager that has never won at ER in his entire career, that alone is enough to give me hope.

If you ignore the two replays, which were evening games, not on telly and had a feelgood factor for Hibs, we'll likely be a couple of thousand short. Pricing and form is a huge influence if we're needing season ticket holders to actually buy seats and find 5k walk-ups.

Is he? No clue how the midfield lines up in a game like this without him. With Magennis always likely to be unavailable we are so short of ball playing centre mids.
About a month ago had high hopes for the second half of the season with Nisbet, McGeady, Boyle all back at the top end and Magennis up to speed in the middle.
Now Boyle is out, McGeady not likely to be back, Magennis back to the mystery rolling 2 week injury. Rumour Mykola out for months.

It could be the first attendance that properly jolts the Gordons and makes them realise that football fans are fickle, they don’t just rock up and pay top whack whatever the circumstances.
Even if Hibs just give us something to give us hope between now and then should see it respectable but if the next few games go as badly as they could go then the crowd could be a shocker.

Hopefully some back from injury and a Jan signing or 2.
The 3 players I'd look to first in our squad for the derby would be Porteous, Boyle and Newell. To very likely be without the 3 is a massive blow. None of them have a like for like replacement either. Magennis and McGeady would help but can't rely on either of them being fit.
That said, certainly don't feel like we can't go through - Hearts aren't great by any stretch

The spot hearts got this year was the cup winner spot. They got it because Rangers won the cup but already had a better European spot through the league.
If someone outside the top 3 wins the cup this year they’ll get the spot Hearts got with guaranteed group stage football and 3rd place will get a spot with no guarantees of group stage football.
If someone within the top 3 wins the cup then 3rd place will get the guaranteed group stage spot.

The product this year had some positive feel about it but by the last three or four games we were right back to last year’s product.
Just have to hope we regain the early promise after this World Cup break.
However, I believe none of that will stop a derby cup tie drawing a close to full house. How many are left in the ground by full time will depend a lot on the performance on the night.

2015 league derby at ER had only 13,530 at it. Since then I think we have had full houses every time.
2016 and 17 cup games weren't on the telly. Rest have all been on the TV I think. The current state of the team, and a dodgy kick off time could see it fail to sell out this time.

One of their worst players is suspended while our main threat is out for the season. Horrendous eh.

Maybe for supporters , but not a waste of time for the players - they needs games
Be as well playing it at East Mains. Pointless waste of money to play it at ER.

Good job there wasn't social media or message boards around when I religiously went to the derby games in the 80'90s, through both those horrendous runs against them :boo hoo:.
This place would have imploded, if it had been around then.
Get behind the boys, as we will always be Hibs, they will always be the manky lot #GGTTH

£35, £33 and £31 for adults in gold, silver and bronze areas respectively would be my guess.
If it’s these prices we won’t sell out and it’ll be embarrassing. With the game being last week before January pay day after Christmas they should make them cheaper.

Been to plenty games at ER in the 80's where I'd have been happy to go home and thrash the Olivetti to within an inch of it's life in protest at the performance [emoji6]

They have more derby wins at ER than we do. Sad but true. I don't think they're a particularly good side but either are Ross County or Kilmarnock. Our form is very concerning.
Yup but our record at Tynecastle is way worse.Keep the faith

Just received an email from Hibs saying the tickets are on sale to season ticket holders.
The email doesn’t say when the game is and when I clicked on buy now the link takes me to a page that says the event is not available to me yet since I’m not an Albion Bar member.
Looks like you need to go into your profile and look for reserved tickets to purchase them, strange way of doing it.

Yeah only reserved tickets are available just now.
Why not put them all up for sale but give season ticket holders a week before they get put on general sale as well.

I'm going to put it out there, given the complications and Cup pricing, that getting it under 30 quid is decent.

The payment page is all over the place. Had to input my address manually as my stored card details couldn't be verified. Then on the 4th attempt managed to secure my ticket only to get a message saying that my bank card was invalid and I would need to change my details and try to purchase again despite the money coming out of my account and me receiving a conformation email from Hibs to say that my purchase was successful.....

I'm assuming that I know the answer to what it's going to cost etc but from what I can see once again there's no mention of anything in relation to wheelchair tickets on that article which is a pity.

How would you decide who could buy tickets for a singing area there?

I suppose similar to how we are now but STs have the option to buy a ticket anywhere in the stadium with the advertisement that FF lower will be a singing section. Don’t think it would need to be anything more complicated than that.

I get what you mean that if it was just a free for all there would be no guarantees that the singing section/block 7 would be able to secure a ticket for that area.
For the purposes of a trial I probably would guarantee them seating in that area for this match (assuming they have ST). Then if the trials were successful for next season work under the assumption that they would have STs for that area and we can go back to the normal way of reserving your ST seat.
But that's not arranging the singing section in there? Could be anyone.
I don't think needs to be arranged. You sell tickets to a singing section, people buying in there will understand they need to sing, hopefully 😁

I don’t know for certain but I guess that block 7 would have had contact with the club in organising the trials at the previous games we have trialled it in the FF. They’d probably sit in the current section at the end of the east as well.

So far as they're STs that's more palatable. I think they might struggle to fill more than a section of the FFL though
I just think that until safe standing is brought in (someone said Ron was hinting at it being next season?) nobody should have priority in any section of ER, even if the FFL doesn't offer the best seats!
