Really sorry to hear that, he had such a positive attitude about his devastating diagnosis and did some amazing work to raise awareness of and raise money for one of the cruellest of illnesses.

The end was sadly inevitable but it's tragic nonetheless.

Terrible news. Had a feeling at the All Blacks game that he wouldn’t be with us for long. A great player and an even better man by all accounts.

I lost my Mum to MND in May. Doddie has been a huge source of inspiration for me, he was one of my rugby heroes too.

I'm struggling to hold back the tears.

RIP Legend.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you're ok.Thanks, I'm doing alright. My old man isn't as good understandably so.

Doddie was genuinely a hero of mine and that was only made more so considering. I was at Murrayfield at the New Zealand game and I'm glad his family will have that memory.

His legacy is huge.

I heard about the illness a few years back when Phil Stephenson sadly got it and passed. He was the first sportsman I know who got it. Seeing a big prop forward wasting away was awful.

I remember speaking to him before it got bad. Worst illness ever heard of.

Give your dad a bell and make him smile.
