Murdo MacLeod has been allowed to go home after spending 3 months in hospital and hopefully he's on the road to recovery. Really liked him when he played with us ,3 years at Hibs and helped us win a cup . Thought he was just the type of player we needed then and was really happy when he signed from Borussia Dortmund.

Wish him well in his recovery, I wasn't aware that he had been in hospital.

Great signing given his success at Celtc and Dortmund and as a cup-winning captain for us he is in a special and sadly rare category. In terms of international caps he almost certainly would have got more were it not for the stiff competition in midfield for Scotland.

He seems to have had a rough time of it . He was for me one of those signings that you say " wow " to yourself and get a lift as a fan specially with what our club had been through beforehand. Great player for us and a cup winning captain . Think he had around 20 caps for Scotland and seem to remember he got a call up while at Hibs , if my memory serves me correctly?

Didn’t know he was ill, hope he is on the road to recovery
I remember being at his debut at Tannadice, big Hibs crowd but as usual in those days, another loss
As stated a cup winning captain and a very good player

Wishing him a speedy recovery

A cup winning Captain who was always only too pleased to give his time to attend supporter’s functions

A marquee signing from Dortmund that told the world the Hibees were very much still alive and kicking

Pretty sure his father played for Hibs as well

My memory of him as a player is of him driving us on in midfield with a rocket shot and of being knocked out cold from a Branco free kick in the Stadio Del Alpi in Italia ‘90

A very good signing for us in the days when we could sign players from top cubs.
Murdo from Borrusia Dortmond , Archie goal from Barcelona.
Has always spoke highly of Hibs and enjoyed his time here , speedy recovery Murdo a cup winning captain.

Did he not win the League Cup with Celtic too? Have a vague memory of him scoring against the Huns with a raker in the early '80s (think I was coming back from Greenock the same day, after a ***** Hibs performance in the pishing rain at Cappielow 😄)

France looking really good again, Dembélé in particular having a good game. Surprised Camavinga hasn’t played much yet in this World Cup

Just checked - Murdo scored the winner on 4/12/82, 2-1 to Celtic. Hibs drew 0-0 at Cappielow. Back then the League Cup Final was played at 3pm on a Saturday while the league matches were on, seems mental now! Sticks in ma heid, hearing the result in the car hame fae Greenock (cauld & wet, as usual 😆).
