With another break upon us what are people's football plans for the next few weeks.

I'm off to Linlithgow today for Linlithgow Rose v Civil Service Strollers. Got tickets for Tynecastle for the women's final v Rangers in December and will likely take in a couple of Spartans games as well.

First visit to Cove Rangers today to photograph their match with Morton. Some familiar faces on show and a really nice wee ground. Game was poor due to the high winds and Morton probably just about deserved their win. Was glad to get a heat in the car after a pretty cold few hours.

Linlithgow v Strollers was a decent choice yesterday.

The game was an insult to football but it did have a player subbed for fighting with his teammate over who took a penalty, 2 red cards, 4 goals, a couple of brawls on the park and an old boy ask me for a square go in the pub because he thought I had stolen his phone (I hadn't).

Proper football.

Was at Broadwood for the Open Goal Broomhill v Strollers game last night. 4-1 Broomhill.

Wasn't a great game tbh and didn't feel entertaining enough for 5 goals but Broomhill took advantage of a ridiculously soft penalty in the 1st half and a couple of chances on the break late on. They were deserved winners but 4-1 flattered both them and the game.

Crowd of just under 400. Broomhill try to put on a bit of a show. Disco lights before the game and when they score is a sight to see😅. The kebab pie was a revelation, a solid 9/10 job. Only disappointment was the usually excellent stadium bar was closed.

Nice ground in Sheffield, I like it.

Huddersfield we're absolutely awful. Sheffield slightly better, scored a good goal and hung on easy.

Typical Heckingbottom team set up.

One thing that was bizarre though. A guy walked onto the pitch in the first half. He walked to half way and sort of crouched down on one knee for a while. Stewards walked up to him and left him before he walked back to them and got arrested. Never seen anything like it in a ground before.

Should be a good game.

Spartans need to keep winning as it's down to 3 teams for the play off now. I was at Falkirk for the East Stirling game last week when they turned over Edinburgh Uni and they are much improved since Sandy Clark took over.

https://www.kirkcaldydysartfc.co.uk/clubinfo/1012

The YM merged with Dysart Amateur Football Club in 2019 under the name of Kirkcaldy & Dysart FC and in 2020 made the move to the East of Scotland League in the Scottish Football Pyramid. The extended close season in 2020 saw extensive work on the park with the formation of a new boundary fence and additional hospitality facilities.

I've been at 2 games this week.

Civil Service Strollers v Stirling Uni on Saturday past. Not the best game and finished 0-0. Strollers had the better of the first half, both teams cancelled each other out in the 2nd.

Spartans v Stirling Uni on Saturday. A brilliant 1stvhalf performance from Spartans saw them 4-0 up at HT, helped by some more than questionable defending and goalkeeping. Game finished the same way and that was a huge step towards the league title for Spartans albeit there is a long way to go.

For anyone not aware Saturday is 'Groundhop Day'. A lot of clubs offering good prices, putting on special events and moving KO times to allow people to take in more than one game. Think I'm going to head down to Tranent for a 5pm kick off there.

Ochilview for me on Saturday. Queens Park the hosts on this occasion against ICT. Table toppers v Scottish Cup semi finalists. The last time I photographed these two teams a Jambo loanee knocked Queens Park out the cup despite being on the winning side and that has been a slice of luck for ICT that they have hugely capitalised on. Been at Ochilview a few times so familiar territory and hope the weather is ok as it is pretty exposed down one end

Aye the Fanhaus looks great.

Dortmund I signed my son up as a member so allowed up to 4 tickets in their advanced sales. I then got the other 8 through a Dutch match ticket company called groundhopticket. They get 4.9 out of 5 on trustpilot. Paid €77.50 through them for a €45 ticket but that’s a damn sight cheaper than the likes of stubhub.

Looking forward to visiting Matty jacks pub in Düsseldorf too.

Spartans v Stoneyburn last night.

A Spartans team with 8 under 20s in the line up won 9-0.

I've seen a fair few East of Scotland games this season and the gap between the top end of the Premier with sides like Linlithgow Rose and Sauchie and teams even in the 1st Division is huge. When you get to the 3rd division there are Saturday amateur teams who would be more competitive.

Last game I made it down for was Flyde's last minute winner there at New Year (which was a sickener).

If you want to sit then do it in the stand nearest the community pitch, the ultras occupy the other one.

If you want to stand go behind the goals at the far end as there is decent slope there for a good vantage point.

Ended up going.

The Spartans Ultras were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps scared off by the reputation of the Livi mob. Jeez, they were nippy. Average age about 12, so couldn't even blame it on the charlie. Eventually, they all got chucked out because they broke a couple of seats. :greengrin No messing from the stewards, and maybe a wee lesson for us. :cb

I watched from the banked area, and might go back there with my grand-daughter. Plenty room for her to run about.

Oh yeah, full-time Livi won 2-0.

Apparently they were Edinburgh City ultras trying to stir up bother, there is a video going about of them marching through Edinburgh. They are a bunch of wee fannies, most of them are Hibs or Hearts fans, my daughter goes to school with a few of them, a bunch of wee scrotes (my terminology, not hers!].

I’m not sure if they even all go to City games now since they clamped down in them.

Great night watching Dalkeith v Broxburn in the Scottish Cup first round under the lights and on BBC. Easy enough for Broxburn in the end but it was close for a long time. I was rooting for Dalkeith but my mate's cousin scored a hatrick for Broxburn so a good night for the Douglas clan

If I screenshot the QR Codes and send them to him will they work or will the original email work?

That’s correct. The United fans are snooty and dismissive of Athletic, but I get a sense of unease from them the closer Athletic get to them in the pyramid (though they are still a couple of leagues below).

Certainly were, formed in Linlithgow . Saw them a couple of times and they are an excellent team. Beat Dunbar away recently 4-1 in the big Scottish Cup. It is weird that a town the size of Bo'ness has 2 teams in the big Scottish cup.

As an aside. Bo'ness Utd have a huge advert in their ground with a huge Rangers badge and "Bo'ness True Blues" written for all to see!

Thornton had one of their coaches, Ian Shanks, playing in defence on Saturday given a range of absences. The club's own media described him as being two years older than Santa, and throwing away his zimmer frame present match. He then rightly won MOM!

Competitive and enjoyable game in awful conditions at Ainslie Park.

Spartans well deserved winners, dominated for much of the game, created by far the better chances and even after (deservedly imo) going down to 10 men probably had the better chances in that period as well. City had been on a good run but they looked very disjointed for long spells and 'try to get it to Connor Young and pray' seemed the tactic of choice for much of the 2nd half.

Whittaker was well off it first half but he came onto a game in the 2nd and had a couple of important headed clearances late on.

I’m through in the southside of Glasgow at echoey Hampden Park for Scottish Cup 4th round Queens Park vs Montrose. 1-0 Queens goal at the stroke of halftime, ex-Hibs and minor nutcase Sean Welsh in the Queens midfield.

If Blair Lyons plays like this every week Hibs should think about looking at him as a cheap punt, two tremendous goals second half for Montrose and clearly the standout on the left wing. 1-2 half way through the 2nd half.

Queens 3-2 after extra time. Some game.

An absolute pleasure buying a pie without having to queue for 25 minutes at Easter Road. Theyve staffed the catering like there was50,000 here :faf:
