Japanese player market

was thinking surely we could pick up a few decent players in the Japanese league?
City Group own Yokohama Marinos .
With success of the Celtic players and their fitness and skill levels ,is our recruiting department looking at this I hope!!
Lee Johnson keeps saying he’s friends and contacts re City Group.
We are looking at adding real quality I hope in January and if reports are true moving on a few players etc.

I’m not sure how attractive a proposition Hibs would be to these sorts of players.

We don’t offer earth shattering money, I’d be surprised if it’s even much more than what guys in the J League are on. Would they bother coming here for our wage? It’s a long way from home to play in a fairly undesirable league for similar money to what you can get at home.

The quality of Japanese players is long known mate, I have a feeling that once the big 5 leagues and richer clubs in the other leagues take their pick there wont be much left ... I don't know a lot about the Japanese league, but I'm inclined to guess their clubs can pay better wages than the likes of us before we even try to fight it out with other European clubs.

Wouldn’t the smartest approach be to sign up the very best Scottish talent at say 16-18, have a B team in the Lowland league so they can play under 18s and Lowland League ?

Well out of our wage structure and frankly don't think clubs at Hibs level would be in anyway attractive to Japanese players.

Kensell and Ian Gordon said on an interview (maybe Down the slope?) before that it’s a market they are thinking about exploring, think this was maybe February sort of time?

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if we get one or two from there due to what they said, the Celtic effect and Johnson’s connections.

Money may be an issue but maybe they want a chance in Europe after seeing how well the Celtic players have done.

The very best Scottish talent goes to the very best two Scottish teams in general. Of course we manage to snap some up but generally they go west.
