Am I the only one absolutely hacked off with whenever we get a throw around the box it is launched in as a complete lottery rather than trying to create something. We very rarely win the header. Incredible it is every throw rather than trying to work it short now and again. As for our floated corners also.

A tactic favoured by the more industrial types. Lump it into the mixer and hope for the best.

Resulted in some breaks of the ball in the box that didn’t go in our favour and Melkersen just put that overhead kick over the bar.
I agree though there needs to be more variety in our play as it is easy for teams to mop up more often than not. Derek McInnes saying that they dealt with our “long balls and long throws” is not something I ideally want to hear about our team.

Almost came off at the death.
But yes, some variety would be nice.

I don't mind it when you get to the tail end of games and are looking for an equaliser or winner. However earlier in the game it just slows everything down and goes against the up tempo type game LJ promised us. We are playing slower by the week and I don't know if that is by design or because of the players obvious lack of confidence

Did you see our throw-ins before we discovered Newell had a long ‘un???

The good old days where we would just find an opposition player to throw it to

It's good to have as an option
We had an opportunity for a 3 on 1 from a throw, but instead opted to launch in to the box. That situation frustrates me as we could have worked a good chance

Yep should always only be an option not the default

Long throw ins, short throw ins.
Been good at neither since as far back as I can remember.
That's mid 80s

How many times do you think we need to launch it into the box and get nothing from it before we decide it’s not working?

The issue is the lack of opportunities we’re creating from it, not the long through itself.
It’s a great chance to get the ball into a dangerous area, we should be working on it in training. Set moves.

We need to stop it, it's awful and we've been caught out with it a few times already on the counter.

Tossing the ball in to the box is something we have relied upon way too much. It is so predictable that we play towards the opposition box then out to the wing and in comes a cross. The problem for me is that we really don’t have the players in the centre to take advantage. We really need to be playing in to the box through the centre or at least mixing it up. Otherwise the big defenders just lap it up against our relatively slight forwards. Long throws and crosses are not working

We need to mix it up a bit. There was one where the Killie got into position to defend a long throw, Newell takes it shorter to Lewis. Seemed to confuse the Killie defense and Stevenson's cross caused a bit of confusion.
I wanna know how we have only just realised newell has a long throw

Can't remember the last time we scored from a short one.
