Interesting to see that Celtic have been given a license to sell alcohol within the stadium.
While the closing at 1pm then having to go back out the stadium to re enter for game seems a bit of a palaver, it’s maybe the start of seeing restrictions eased and clubs having the opportunity to sell alcohol within the concourses in the very near future.
What Celtic have on offer today holds no appeal for me whatsoever, but be interesting to see what develops going forward.

So you drink from 11 to 1 then have to leave and wait to get in which if you stay means you have 2 hours to wait before game or you go into pub along the road at 11 and stay till 2:45, i know what one i would choose:greengrin

Absolutely no reason why this option shouldn't be available for the vast majority of games, right up until kick off.
Most of the arguments against it seem to focus on 'a sea of bottles' and ' a guy pissing against your leg'. It all seems a bit outdated. No one is suggesting we go back to the days of guys carting a slab of lager and a half bottle or whisky into the ground. Stadiums are totally different now; all seated, segregated and crowds are smaller.
People that want to get absolutely blitzed and cause bother are a tiny minority and are still able to do so even with the archaic rules in place now. A pint at £5+ in the ground is unlikely to massively appeal to them and not really going to make all that much difference to their behaviour anyway.

Exactly, have had beers in pretty much every English ground I’ve been to.
Joke of a law.
Like you said no booze has little affect on the group of lads who go through a bag in the cubicles before KO.

I know an operator who have been approached by Hibs for an area outside the east stand. Believe licencing has been the hold up. Anyway Hibs have been keen to trial this too.

Seems a bit pointless. What do you do for the two hours between kick out and kick off? Would be better just going to the pub!
