Theres no reason not to give that many when they are all meritted, and every player gets involved in a fight. Its just normal practice for refs to stop at five or so. Good for him. I'm for Los Millionaros anyway, dont like Boca:thumbsup:

Is it still the case that a match is abandoned (and forfeited) if a team goes below seven players? That would have been the case for Boca here – it's not clear from the story if the goal was the last kick of ball, or they fudged it because the game was virtually over, or it was actually forfeited.
(Or maybe that rule's changed anyway.)

the goal and provocative celebration was in the 28th minute of extra time. So it shouldn’t have been the last kick but it was followed by 10 minutes of shenanigans

I'm not sure that was ever the rule. I thought that the game couldn't start if there were less than 7 players. But I don't think the game gets abandoned if they get below 7. I'm sure some of the resident experts will tell us one way or another as I can't be bothered to look it up. So I'm right unless proven otherwise🤣

Seems it is a current rule as described here: https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/the-players/
Says "a match may not start or continue if either team has fewer than seven players."

There's more detail here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63540624
Seems it was abandoned. Two of Boca's reds were for players on the bench, but the others took them down to six players.

Showing my age here, I immediately thought of early 90s Airdrie.
