Has anything been mentioned about the ko's for these fixtures being moved?

Even a kick off at lunch time would make sense? Travelling home not to bad as I should have a couple of options.

Aberdeen are playing in paisley and surely clubs will want to make sure their players get home safely if they're travelling south or where ever.

Just my rambling thoughts though

Hoping it’s going to be changed or else I’ll have to make a decision whether to bother or not.

Earlier in the day is fair enough, 3pm just eats into too much of Xmas eve for me. Would be a poor crowd if it’s kept where it is.

I recall a Christmas Eve match in 2016 against Raith that kicked off at 1pm, so every chance it will be around lunchtime.

Celtic have had their kick off changed to 12.30 so ours could still change too.

I was hoping they may have moved this to the Friday, but Livvi are playing on the Wednesday night before

Why are the games Xmas eve and not Boxing Day?

Because there is a round of fixtures on the 28th December

As if folk haven’t enough to do on Christmas Eve! I’m sure a lot will welcome it to get away from it all but I can see thousands giving it a miss. The SPFL seem to find every way they can to make supporting your team harder.

I think it’s bizarre that they are playing that day given the amount of families that go.

I remember us playing Ayr on the night of Xmas Eve in the 70s. IIRC Joe Harper scored and we won 1 0 in front of about 4k. It's been a longstanding gripe of mine that Scottish Football never takes advantage of public holidays in their fixture scheduling.

I was speaking to Tarrahibs on Saturday. He lives in Inverness. He says he’s unlikely to make it as there’s no public transport back after around 11am
It’s just a rubbish day for a game

I was there as well, it was actually a Joe Fillippi og. Dire match from what I recall!

Huns game at Ibrox not involving Celtic live on the telly. I think you're clearly mistaken 😀

Harper had left by then, it was the season that we drew half of our games. We were in terminal decline by then. It was an evening kick off as well if I remember correctly.

Didn't realize the final was that date, don't have too much interest in the WC this year, but that makes sense.

Back in the day and even before that ,games on Christmas Day in Scotland were not uncommon.
I remember having to work on Christmas Day.
Hogmanay and NYD were more our Scottish "Festive" holidays.

Quite surprising when you think that the established church in Scotland had all sorts of influence in our daily lives, particularly restricting our partaking in happiness and enjoyment, during the sabbath and religious holidays !
And dont dare spit on the pavement !!

The game in question regards turncoat Colin Stein, who went from Hibs to Huns for the, at the time. record transfer fee £100.000.
His first game for them against us,he scored a hat trick

25th December 1971 - Hibernian 0 Rangers 1 - Scottish League Division One
Christmas Day matches had been abandoned in England since 1957,although they were retained North of the border for a further 14 years.
Colin Stein scored the only goal of the game to net Rangers two points in front of a holiday crowd of 30,000

Christmas Day wasn’t a public holiday in Scotland until 1958, Mick.

Yes Indeed

Public holiday or not, many people in non essential jobs still had to work or no pay, till unions organised paid holiday.
Celebrating Christmas Day was banned for centuries by the John Knox brigade as seen as a Catholic festival.

Its one reason Scots adopted Hogmanay and New Year for celebrating something !

Yea, it’s a step too far for me. I was going to go to Exeter v Bath rugby match down here but got tonnes on on Christmas Eve. Got a load of family round so can’t see me disappearing all day.
