I know what most of you would pick btw? 😂. But for me at the time with everything that had happened to us this is my favourite goal ,not a classic by any means but how we bounced back and took on a star studded team was incredible.

Barring the obvious. There are a few that spring to mind. Geebs at Tiny was a massive goal for breaking the run, Le God losing a tooth for showing what is needed to win Derbies, Wotherspoon's deflected goal against Hearts because that signalled to me we might start getting more of the luck against them. In terms of quality Ralph Callaghan's jinky run takes some beating and Chic and Pat scoring from our own half or thereabouts were special goals

Boyle's volley against Livi takes some beating, John McGinn against Dundee Utd when he was just back from injury was a great moment. Malonga v Aberdeen was brilliant, but (aside from the obvious Scottish Cup goals and Latapy in the 6-2) my favourite is probably Stevenson at Ibrox because, well, it was Lewis Stevenson. At Ibrox

Hard to pick one.

Gary O'connor in the brebner red card game.
Darren Jackson penalty at Ibrox.
Gordon hunter at Tynecastle
Tam Mcmanus v Kilmarnock in the Scottish cup

My favourite Hibs goal was from Eric Stevenson in a cup game on a Wednesday night in front of the old cowshed.
Playing down the slope, the ball was slung in from the right at head height, Eric went to header it, it went over his head as he dived in, but he backheeled the ball into the roof of the net.
It lit up a murky night and another win for the Hibs!!!!

Worth watching the lot ,if only to wonder at the ground and how it looked then !

So many memorable goals,isn't there?
Two to mention
Bobby Duncan's wonder goal v Napoli.. a rocket from near the half way line !!

Have said it before, as this thread has been done a few times, but Alan Gordon's header to make it seven (7) was wonderful, also wee Mickey Edwards goal v the hun at a rain soaked Wednesday night replay at Hampden when 4 thousand Hibees faced off against 50 odd thousand huns, the goal was a screamer from a knock down header from John Hazel I think, memory getting hazy but it was the second goal of the win to take us to the final.

Erich Schaedler on the overlap

Hearts defender comes across to intercept as Shades hits the ball too far in front of himself in typical fashion

Shades hits the defender with a crunching tackle and rattles every bone in the defender’s body like a xylophone

The momentum of the challenge carries the ball through to Arthur lurking handily on the left wing

Duncan glances up looking for the familiar blonde head lurking menacingly in the box surrounded by maroon jerseys

He instinctively sends the ball across

Alan Gordon leaps like a salmon out jumping the static defenders

One flick of his head sends the ball crashing off the inside of the near post beyond the despairing Kenny Garbage before creeping along the line and hitting off the inside of the far post before crossing the line and entering the Hearts pokey

This goal is so brilliant and iconic I once saw an artists impression of it online

They were lording it over us that day, having beaten us in the game that shall not be mentioned. They were celebrating when Sparky went off injured (classless ********s).

I'll always remember the emotion on Spoony's face when it went in. Clearly meant a lot to him. He may not have been the greatest ever player at this club, and I'll never understand why some folks insist on booing him every time he plays against us at ER. Personally, I'll never hear a bad word spoken against David.

A big miss the season after IMO

The Hanlon equaliser at Tynescatle.

I've seen us lose to Hearts loads of time when we haven't deserved anything else. That day we at least matched them in the 1st half yet somehow found ourselves 2-0 down. At Tyncastle, Hibs being 2 down usually means game over. The fans never seemed to turn that day though, I remember just after Hearts scored their 2nd a guy a few rows in front of me was screaming 'c'mon hibs, heads up' and it seemed to spread across the stand. We battered them in the 2nd half and I always felt if we could get one then we would equalise. When that goal went in it was utter carnage, I've been in some mental celebrations but that topped even the winner at Hampden. I sometime think in the days of internet 'footy limbs' celebrations can be a bit exaggerated or contrived for effect but this was just an explosion of emotion, I was the only one of my group who had enough loyalty points to get a ticket in the 1st batch of sales so was sitting on my own but I must have jumped on and/or embraced everyone within about a 20 seat radius, a total man mountain behind me jumped on my back and we both spilled over about 4 rows.

I'd also thrown in the Dean Shiels winner at Tynecastle in 2005 as well. That was another mental celebration. I'm sure the police match commander had a go at the Hibs players for their celebrations in front of us and described the Hibs fans as suffering from a 'collective hysteria' or something similar.

Last one would be Slivka making it 3-1 at Ibrox in the 1st game v them after the cup final. Another mental celebration. They were well up for it that day, mini pitch invasion when they scored early and I think they thought revenge was there for the taking. It was just a great strike out of nowhere, of course it being Hibs so we managed to make it difficult for ourselves it really felt like game over at that point.

Do they? I cant say I can recall him getting any special treatment when he has played at ER.

As we left the stadium after the 2016 cup final we bumped into Spoony ... he had been sitting with the riff raff in the east stand with his Hibs scarf on, I still have a picture of me and my mates with him. Even though he was no longer a Hibs player and he doesn't support Hibs he still came along to support the team ... that's all folk need to know about David Wotherspoon, I was delighted for him when he went on to win the league and Scottish cups with his boyhood team.

The Hanlon goal is mine too.

There was something about the away end that day, just an edge or something that was unique and quite hard to describe. Maybe it was because I'd had a decent drink that day, which I don't tend to do much for games any more.

The goal was nothing less than we deserved and the game came in the middle of what felt like a significant time for us with lots of significant games, not all of which went our way. The celebration of that equaliser was absolute pandemonium though.

And that goal didn't half prove significant in the end.

2 goals for me, for different reasons.

Chic Charnley’s audacious ‘chip’ from the halfway line against Alloa in a League Cup game - late 90s?
You had to be there to remember it!

I was at that game and remember being thrilled to bits as it was the first time I'd seen Hibs hand out such a humping to any team - we weren't much of a high scoring team back then in the late 70s so this was a sweet victory. Callaghan's mazy run was a joy to behold as he seemed to beat every player in the Dundee box twice before slotting home from close range and ER went mental!
