Watched the dons game(with mute button on) and boy they were bad. I hope boyler is fit as he will be a real threat to them. Dont know what tactics no goodwin was playing but it could easily have been double figures. Im sure they wont be so open against us but if they are we much have a good chance of doing well.

I’d take a draw in all honesty.
It’s very tight up there and think it will be nip and tuck all season. Need to start converting the not so good performances into points again like at the start of the season.
These little draws etc add up. Rather than 3 point swing

Aberdeen at home are a completely different team to Aberdeen away.
At home they have only lost 1 game this season in league.
Scoring 18 goals in 5 games. Add another 9 goals in 3 games in league cup.
Hibs have only won 2 games in Aberdeen since 2012 so not exactly a place where we have picked up 3 points recently.
Biggest test so far for this Hibs team especially as they will be raging after the Porto game and Huns hammering yesterday.

Point would be a good point in this game.
If we can get a win it would put us in a really strong position though.
They’ll be up for it but they’ll give us chances as well.

Agreed, seem to be a different animal at Pittodrie, and yesterday's Aberdeen result has no bearing on the side we'll face on Friday.
It'll be a very difficult fixture, and one Hibs need to start taking points from if we're going to gain 3rd place.

Saying we’d be happy with a point is a bit of a negative outlook. If we’re serious about aiming to finish third then we need to go to places like Aberdeen with a mindset and belief that we will win the game.
Yes, of course our dreadful record there doesn’t really support that outlook, but this Hibs side stands a good chance in rectifying that. There are good points and bad points depending on how game pans out, but accepting a point before we go would probably result in us leaving with nothing.
Hoping we can shift that last block of tickets and we can enjoy a positive night in the North East!

For me it's a don't lose game, if we win then what a night in Aberdeen it will be!

Let's just pump them!! Yesterday we played really well and we were unlucky to lose to St Johnstone and Dundee utd. I think under LJ we are on the right track. A win up there would be a real step in the right direction

It sounds like they approached the game yesterday with the wrong tactics, similar to our approach at Parkhead the other week, but I wouldn't put too much of an emphasis on their defeat yesterday in the context of how they're likely to perform over the rest of the season.
Rangers and Celtic have had poor results in the Champions League this season and have proven that they are nowhere near that level. However playing Real Madrid and Liverpool is pretty far removed from any opponent that either of them will play domestically and they are still far better than any other team in the league.
Aberdeen away is usually a difficult fixture for us and I'm expecting that to be no different next Friday. They have the 3rd best PPG home record so far this season with 12 points from a possible 15. They have also scored the most goals per game at home this season in the league with 17 goals from 5 games (3.4 goals per game) that's higher than Celtic's 3.2 and Rangers' 3.
It's a huge game for both teams next week and we will be doing really well to pick up the win.

We always struggle at Pittodrie and often put in a dismal performance. Hopefully things have changed

I'm sure it will be as it isn't a 3pm kick off. You should be able to get it on AberdeenTV.

I'm sure their fans would've thought that watching us Vs Celtic. Rangers and Celtic have the capacity to make every other team in the league look bad. It's difficult to form an opinion of their ability as a team based on that game.
I see them as very similar to us in that they will be streaky after signing so many players over thee summer, as the season goes on we will both settle and consistency will improve.

It's not every non-3pm kick off that's on PPV, clubs can only show a maximum of 5 home games per season on PPV and they must not be at 3pm on a Saturday or picked by Sky.
It would certainly meet the criteria for PPV but at the moment nothing's been announced about it being available on PPV for viewers in the UK.

One of those 30 yarder free kicks. He's been getting close with them, would be genuinely so funny if we win 1-0 and Porto whacks one in from miles out. Goodwin might just explode

There a difference between LJ and the squad going up there aiming for a point at best compared to fans saying now that they would be happy with a point.
Personally, considering our record there, I’d happily take a point and move on.
Obviously I’d be delighted with a win but at this stage in the season and the league standings where they are a point would be a very good result for us I’d say.

No doubt a very difficult game .Pretty sure that they whacked St Mirren and Livingston when they went down to ten . Game on Porto to score.

What’s the total allocation we get there? Thankfully I’ve always been in the covered section but I see it’s only the uncovered left.
Must be a decent enough support heading up.

If Porto cracked one from 30yds and slipped as he hit it, Tornface would be in the officials ear claiming he dived.
Goodclipe will do well to be on his best behaviour.
I hope our bench give him a bit of wind up banter as the game goes on :stirrer::spammy:.... hopefully in our favour!

Aberdeen seem to be a different animal at home. We utterly battered them at Easter Road and they were very lucky to only concede three times. I'm expecting a tough game on Friday.

A quick glance at the Aberdeen fans forum (AFC Chat) shows they are absolutely on the cusp of mutiny, they're sick of Goodwin and ready to turn on their club. The general consensus is that they went to Ibrox and were set up by the manager to lose by double figures
In that atmosphere, an early Hibs goal (or two) will light the fuse on a ticking timebomb

Indeed Billy
The hostility against the hun is greater of course with Celtic ,then likely us, but the Dons despise them too.
You will be old enough to remember the infamous incident/tackle from Dons Neil Simpson on rangers Ian Durrant 1988
Durrant,a senior player then for the hun,was out the game for nearly 3 years due to his injuries.
The animosity between the fans of those clubs rose after that and of course continues.
Did some checking, i notice Durrant sued Simpson and they settled out of court.
That must be rare in football
Durrant i also read has a criminal conviction.
Breach of the peace ,singing sectarian chants.
Also heard shouting FTP at a rangers dinner during a jolly old sing song!
So maybe 3 years out the game was not long enough for this bigot.

Very inconsistent but have some really good players.
Duk and Miovski are both capable of scoring a very good goal and out of nothing and they have some creative players in there capable of setting them up.
Barron back is a huge boost for them and really strengthens their midfield.
Dodgy at the back however as the right back Richardson is hopeless defensively and Stewart is awful on the ball and gets dragged about. Scales can be inconsistent they seem to never have a settled left side as Coulson is often injured.
Need to be right at it.

Fixtures have been relatively kind to us so far in that we've played most of our toughest games at Home.
