View Full Version : How do I get PPV on my TV?

When I've bought Hibs' PPV games before, I've just watched them on my tablet.
However, I've indoctrinated one of the locals here into the Hibernian way and he's coming round to watch the game tonight so I'd need a bigger screen.
Is there an easy way to get it on my smart TV?

Just watch it through the internet app on your TV D. That’s what I did the season we weren’t allowed to attend.

Yup just use the web browser on the TV. Bit clunky using the remote to put in the search and user etc but worked absolutely fine for me when used before.
Sure the more tech savvy will suggest casting your tablet etc. but can’t say I’ve ever got around to doing such things [emoji1787]

That's what I've done. Also if you have a laptop and it has an hdmi connection connect that to your TV with an hdmi cable.

Do you have a bluetooth keyboard Dave, if so, pair it to your tv.
It's much easier using one of those for typing, then you can use the app a lot quicker and you have less chance of clicking on a wrong digit.

Which app?
Edit: I see from other posts you mean the internet app.
I'll try that, thanks.

I like this method. Swipe it from the young one’s x box, if you’ve got a young one and they’ve got an x box.

Does that work with a PS4?

Yep - I believe so 👍 it’s just the HDMI cable you want. Plug it into your laptop (maybe works with tablet too?) and other end into the tv.. flick it onto the right hdmi channel and it should just be casting whatever you’re doing on your laptop (so put the porn off first)

I've tried that a number of times but it's never worked. I can get to the website but that's about it.

It depends on the age of the TV. My older TV does the same but my new TV does it no problem. Some tvs have USB ports so it may work as well never tried it.

I've never had the pleasure of a visit there. I'm fairly confident that I never will! 😁

Yeah I’ve used the PS4 and PS5 browsers during covid and they work perfect. Easier than using tv browsers as well.

I've got the screen to buy it up via PS4.
It says it goes live at 6.45pm.
Does it usually start that early?

There's a difference between 'going live' and there being anything to see – there's normally a holding graphic to start with (but it means you can log in ahead of time and check that it's working). During lockdown when they were making more of a thing of it there would be studio guests etc from about 30 minutes before kick off. This season they've gone back to the simpler (cheaper) setup where there's no studio, it's just the commentators chatting for 10 or 15 minutes before kick off.
As mentioned above it's possible they'll do something extra for this game as it's PPV rather than just international subscribers.

Pretty sure I read somewhere the Club are doing something special 15 minutes before kick off ( 7.30pm )

No, there will be a holding graphic in place until the commentary team go live later on.
The early start and graphic is to allow users to login and check that they can see that they are connected to the stream. If not, it gives them plenty of time to contact the support team to get help and resolve any issue.

Hope you got sorted HR, I stream it over the internet app on my Samsung tv and it’s flawless.
Also means I can give you all my opinions as the game goes on which is a bonus for everyone.

The controller is quite intelligent in the way it works - jumps to click buttons instead of having to scroll to them.

Should be something in the bottom right hand corner to allow you to full screen it. Also you can check the picture quality usually set to auto so gives you HD quality I think 720p.

You missed the interview with David Gray, Franck Sauzee, John Collins and Rob Jones? It was magic.
They said I was the best poster on Hibs.net by far.
Haha.
Hope Hibs are making some serious coin out of these adverts.
