At the end of the game had one of those conversations with a couple of strangers you have at football. Both of them dejected about Hibs despite the fact we won, we’d won our fourth game in a row, been on a decent run recently, third in the league and another clean sheet.
It wasn’t the prettiest games to watch and we might not have had loads of chances. But I’d rather we won 1-0 ugly than lost 2-1 playing pretty.
Just got me thinking to what pleases Hibs fans these days

4 wins in a row and unbeaten in 11 at ER is good enough for the vast majority!
Quite how anyone could be ‘dejected’ at this moment in time is beyond me although it’s fair to say we are not the finished article so always looking to get better.

I think the comment dejected is a bit strong. We are a work in progress. I think what would make me happy is if our strating eleven were playing at the standard of an on fire Boyle and Porteous every week, so a squad value of £30-£40M. Back in reality, I'm happy with winning.

Lee Johnson wasn't happy with the last ten minutes. Perhaps some fans saw the same as him?

I was delighted with the win along with our recent form and the upward trajectory we seem to be on.
Yesterday was a great result but I was a wee bit disappointed in the game. 2 reasons for that. The first was I expected a really open game between 2 attacking teams but we seemed to cancel each other out. Secondly we started so well, first 15 we were all over them then the aforementioned cancelling out happened and it became a bit of a stalemate and a bit scrappy.
Dejected would be way too strong and I was heartened by lots of what I saw, I like Johnson and the character he has built in this squad. We are on the right path but the lack of cutting edge we have means we might not get the 3, 4 and 5 goal wins that really get fans waxing lyrical.

I'll take a 1 nil win all day any day but preferably playing decent fitbaw.
What would top it off would include free hospitality every week
Had a great time in your company & hope to see you again soon.

A chance to have a moan about our owner and his son and to be able to say I told you so... 🤣

After the Kilmarnock game a few weeks back, which we won, me and my mate were shaking our heads about how poor we were.
Yesterday I was a bit more upbeat after another win, mainly because Motherwell are in good form and fairly decent.
I think this lack of happiness maybe stems from that even though we are third, there is vast scope for improvement. There are quite a few players in the squad from yesterday who have been far from convincing so far. Football supporters tend to make judgements on players even after just a couple of games, which can be unfair. Youan, McKirdy, Jair Tavares, Bojang and Melkersen are players, who all must be on decent wages, but have in my opinion, not offered much so far. I admit it is early days. They are all young and hopefully will improve.
It's probably just the fickleness of the Hibs support in general. We have at times, an unrealistic vision that when we have a relatively decent side we must always play attacking, attractive football and blow teams such as Kilmarnock & Motherwell away.
Even if we win but don't perform well, this may cause the unhappiness.
I'm content just now sitting in third, but from what I've seen not yet confident we will beat the likes of Dundee Utd comfortably.

Your always going to get a few doom and gloom merchant's.Maybe I'm in the minority here but I'm genuinely pleased with Hibs this season .All imo ' We have a very good manager , good backroom staff , recruited some very good players in ,Got Boyle back, team look good and are playing attacking football which is good to watch, sitting 3rd in league too. Yesterday was a tough game against a good team that will cause other teams problems and some might not get a win against them as we did either .One of them games you get that you have to grind out a win I feel.Overall I don't see much about our club not to be pleased about at this stage. :aok:

I’m delighted with where we are. This is a journey with LJ so it’s not going to be perfect every week but we have won 4 in a row, great chance to make that 5 tomorrow.
We are in 3rd and should be right in contention for it all the way through this season. What more can you ask for at this stage?

Some Hibs fans will never ever be happy with Hibs. These are the guys that scream at every misplaced pass or shout abuse at certain players but not others.
I'm happy with how things are going this season, I think we have room to improve though.

I still find it surprising that some fans have not managed to work out that there are 11 players in the opposition side doing their best to stop our players doing what they want to do.
