Thought he was excellent today particularly first half. Pressing and nicking the ball away from Motherwell numerous times. Probably his best game in a Hibs shirt. Seems to be improving with each passing game. Could be a real find.

Agreed. Very good 1st half. Faded a bit in 2nd but looks to be getting used to the pace of the Scottish game :agree:

Agree. He was everywhere in the first 45. Does a lot of simple things but a really key role in protecting the back 4

He looked miles off it at the start of the season, but come on leaps and bounds recently.

Really noticeable contribution today with key interceptions and tackles. He’s made that position his own over the last few games and if there is more improvement to come then he will quickly become one of our best players.

Agree that his passing appears to be better now as well, a settled team is helping us as everyone knows where their team mates will be on the park.

He genuinely wins the ball back a ridiculous amount of times.

I watch quite a lot of games back for the coaching side of things and to look at things a bit closer and it’s then I really notice just how important he is.

He’s a magnet to the ball.

Said from the start he was a player.

He's been good at the dirty stuff from day one. A wee bit sluggish with the ball intially but then he had never played a minute of first team football before, never mind in a league as fast and surious as the Scottish Premiership. As he gets to grips with that he gets better and better on the ball as well as off it. He's never going to be silky but then that's not his job.

Best game I've seen him have. Seemed to win everything he went for today. Well done young man.

Happy for him today and let’s Campbell and Newell float about.

Campbell has been playing really well and covers some amount of ground.

Absolutely brilliant in the first half. Easy to forget that he’s only a year older than some of the youth team players who were playing in the UEFA Youth League game midweek.

This for me is key - at his age playing the role he does in a new league shows the character he has - has the makings of being a really big player for us

Seemed to be in the right positions for the second ball and picking up rebounds and getting in with a block, was impressed!

Was excellent today, particularly 1st half. Lads got a great future ahead of him.

Thanks AFKA, if he keeps improving for the rest of the season we really need to get a longer contract sorted next summer

I'm not wishing him away. Far from it. But if he's performing like that at 19 in an extremely tough and competitive league then he could make us a lot of money if he continues to progress.

First half reminded me of Marvin bartley at times. He was brilliant 1st half and played well enough 2nd half..

I actually think it's insane how good the boy is at what he does at 19. Has a bit of a reputation down south with coming from Leeds academy etc as well and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as our highest ever transfer fee.

Huge credit to the lad and the management team for improving and developing him. He's vindicating his move from Leeds. Exactly what he wanted. Good on him.

Very good first half and played with a lot more authority. Hopefully keeps growing. I can see a midfield 3 of Kenneh- Magennis- Campbell on the horizon. That could be very industrious.

Could’ve been in midfield on his own in the first half, they just couldn’t get past him.

Superb player!

I’m still a bit torn on him.

I thought he was good first half today. Lost count of the number of times he read where they were going to pass it and cut it out.

However, today was another game where things improve (in terms of the score) once he went off. I think he has a positive effect on others but we get in to a winning position more often, when he’s off the park, I think.

Correlation does not imply causation. We had 12 shots in the 64 minutes while he was on the pitch and only 2 in the remaining 31 minutes he was off the pitch. He’s subbed off because it’s less important to have a defensive midfielder on once we have a man advantage.

I get that. But he has had a lot of the praise for how others are doing (and I’m absolutely not saying he’s got nothing to do with it). But if you take Campbell as an example, he’s scored all his goals without Kenneh on the pitch.

St Johnstone, Hearts, Aberdeen and today all games where we’ve ended up in a better position once he’s been subbed. As I say, I find it a bit odd as I generally think he makes a difference.

I blame Ian Gordon personally.

As Michael Stewart has stated on numerous occasions, what are Hibe thinking about signing all these inexperienced young laddies?

He's got so much potential. Absolutely strolled the game today, and assuming he improves with experience, he'll be a key player for us before he leaves for big money.

The pace and physicality of the Scottish game needs a while to adjust to.

Some take longer than others.

But, we are getting there, and Kenneh is an example of how he is improving.

He knew even when on the fringes of the Leeds team what his realistic chances were going to be if he hung around there. Not saying he would have broken into their first team, but he obviously knew he was still quite raw and it could have been a case of being farmed out for a season or two with perhaps little chance of making an impact

He knew he was young and still learning but made a massive decision to take the chance to come to Scotland and to hibs, sign a 3 year contract and start anew. He obviously believes in his own ability and without being ballsy seems to have grasped that chance.

Looking forward to more from the big lad

Thought Kenneh was excellent yesterday, He stopped a lot of the Motherwell counter attacks in the middle of the park and was great in regaining possession, Only downside to his game is when he is in control of the ball he takes an age to pick a pass which can lead to us losing possession in dangerous areas. for me he is the weakest link when we are playing the ball out from the back and teams should use him as the trigger to press.

Saying that if he was better on the ball he wouldn't be playing for Hibs. Lots of potential and look forward to seeing him progress.

Think it will usually be one of Campbell and magennis starting as they're pretty similar stylistically.

For me that midfield three lacks anyone who can really set the tempo of the game, stay composed on the ball under an intense press, or have the technique to consistently play tight line breaking passes. All of which Newell has been doing for us excellently this year.

No way will he be getting dropped any time soon, been our best player this season after porteous imo. whoscored has him as the second best performing centre mid this season so far, only behind O'Riley.

He had a great game yesterday but still feel he is the least comfortable on the ball. Motherwell didn't really get in our faces and the gave us plenty time in our own half, against a higher pressing team I feel he may get found out.
