It's the only SPFL game that a feed isn't working for on IPTV ( so I'm told from a guy that has IPTV, not me of course)

Greenio
01-10-2022, 02:17 PM
Aye, crazy buffering, barely watchable

I emailed the support and they said to try one of the additional links to view, but Im not seeing them on my screen, so they are clearly dealing with a new set up or something

Hopefully they get it sorted soon.

I just get the spinning disc of death with message saying trying to connect, I think Hibs TV relies on Ross Co. feed, if theirs is down, so is ours.

I agree, its a bloody awful service.

Apparently the answer is to use Chrome or Firefox...

Cant be arsed, might as well cancel the subscription I have had for years, only this season I have had any issues.

I'm on chrome, its no different.

They said it was due to an 'exchange issue between providers' so its at their end

Help Desk apparently saying nothing much they can do and lots of people NOT having a problem.

This thread suggests otherwise.

I get 10 seconds of the game then 40 seconds buffering.

Never saw the goal and every move ends in a ‘what happens next’? Scenario.

Also, first time there has NOT been the choice of stream 1,2 or 3…so they HAVE changed something

Seconded Fred.

Buffering has been consistent both halves. Sometimes it buffers briefly but others it cuts out completely with a black screen with text at the top saying “sorry the media is offline”. Have to refresh the webpage and start stream again.

And as u and others have said, there are no other links or players to select from as with previous matches :(

Never had an issue for 10+ years, last night I would get 40-60 secs of game then 1-10 secs buffering and several occasions where the feed just stopped. Thought it was strange there were no option to change to another feed as that has been ever present for a very long time so as others said something had changed.
I’m in Perth WA and last night I was showing a download speed of 160-180 Mbps.

Exactly the same experience here in the City of Churches. I don’t have quite as fast a connection as you in Perth, but my 12 Mbps connection has never had a buffer issue with HibsTV for years. As other posters in Oz are having the same issue, I wonder if it has anything to do with some weird latency issue on the fibre line down to Australia from Singapore.

ist half was perfect then lost the feed for the seconfd half, had to have adming issue me a new password, got the last 10 minutes....

I think there were issues with internet streams that were much wider than Hibs TV on Saturday.

I can usually get decent quality when I swap channels (2.4GHz to 5GHz and vice versa) when buffering becomes too much then as a last resort, when I think Virgin are strangling the data, a mobile hotspot from my phone. Nothing worked for most of Saturday.

Got this from HibsTV

'We have spoken with the club this morning and are currently investigating this.

The stream is going out as normal but it seems to be that there is an issue with the entry point for Australia and New Zealand.

What this means is that the stream is going out all over the world without any issues but when it hits Australia/New Zealand it's having an issue. This stream itself is fine but we will now investigate the entry point to see what is happening.'

I had problems with the stream in Spain. Buffering and then a complete drop out after half time, so problem not restricted to one area.

Exactly..its NOT limited to Australia and New Zealand..but I guess its easy to file it away like that instead of carrying out a comprehensive investigation to actually identify the real source of the problem.

For the record though. where I am in Sydney...I am about 2200 kilometres from New Zealand so 'local conditions' would seem an unlikely reason .....the equivalent distance between Sydney and New Zealand from Edinburgh would be Algeria.., and while I don't know how the reception was in Algeria, I think if they also had a problem the 'local conditions 'argument wouldn't apply.

I suggest that the reason Aus and New Zealand have been mentioned is because at 1-2 am in the morning of the game, after contacting the help desk and getting 'twiddling' solutions to the problems and assurances that everything was 'fine at this end', many of us down here were angry at the apparent disinterest in our complaints and yelled a bit more than others.

Again, for the record, HIbs TV is generally fine, and is the football lifeline many of us rely on.
We are happy to get up in Sydney and Melbourne at 2am to see the games, or 4am in New Zealand for that matter, but to try..as seems the case...to flick pass the issues as somehow being out of the control of Hibs Tv and the fault as being a 'local Australian/New Zealand' issue is as I say a lazy way out.

I'm no technician, but if the stream is perfect most weeks and is not when the game is played at Dingwall,, then I would reasonably presume that any fault lay closer to Dingwasll than Sydney or Auckland.

No matter, we'll be up at 0200 hrs hoping this week, everything is ok..and I fully expect it to be..or else I'll send my chooks over to kick the service providers dunny door down.
