Been a funny old season . we’ve not really fully clicked into gear yet , have a few key players injured . Had horror shows against livi and St Mirren yet here we are sitting 4th above the vastly superior Aberdeen and Hearts .
It feels like there’s still more to come from these lads and if Nisbet , Rocky and Magennis can come back and recapture their best form, could end up bring a decent season after all the early doom and gloom

Our current points per game has us on track for 60 points - that will get us Europe I feel.

Our home results have been promising. It's been a decent return for us at ER.
So many big players still missing but we're above the Gorgie lot and the Sheep - who are apparently both really big, massive and miles ahead of everyone else. I mean, one of them allegedly are too big for their derby 🤔😉

Yeah. The really really crap, the relegation and the Ian Gordon character assassination threads have disappeared for now.

Was always going to be a slow start to the season and build into it considering new players and injuries- and it still will be with some bumps in the road. However we are looking decent compared to the rest non old firm teams and still have

McKirdy, Melkerson, Nisbet, Magennis, McGeady, Rocky and Mitchell to come in and strengthen the squad.

Big Mykola looks decent and suspect McKirdy will go on to be a fan favourite.

Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds

I think we're gonna pick up a lot of points at home but be quite poor away for some reason. 8 points from Hearts, Rangers, Killie and Aberdeen is a decent return so far

I actually thought we looked good today even at 1-0 down so bear with me.

However in general I do think it's a little bit hard to judge us at the moment due to the amount of times we have been playing against less than 11 men.

In 4 games out of 7 so far we have played opposition who have had at least one player sent off and 10 of our 11 points have been picked up in those 4 matches.

I'll be clear and say that's obviously not our fault and we can only play what we're up against but 1 point from the 3 games where we've played against 11 men for 90 minutes is slightly concerning. In 2 of those 3 matches it was also arguably our worst performances so far.

Don't get me wrong I'll take the opposition having players sent off every week but it will be interesting to see how we get on when the red cards for the opposition inevitably start drying up.

Today's performance even against 11 men was pretty good so long may that continue.

Johnson did say to judge him after about 12 games while the players bed in, the 2nd half today was what I want to see the rest of the season.

Going as expected I’d say…taking time for the team to settle and for our style to be found.

But the signs are promising and it’s certainly not lacked for entertainment at ER so far that’s for sure!

I don’t think I agree with those who said we were playing well first half.

We started badly and for most of the half we were ok. It was a weird half - you could tell we really weren’t in full flow but we’d still been carving out sights of goal and it was hard to begrudge us our goal. We had to carry a few very poor individual performances during the first half as well.

Where you refer to entertainment - I would still say I was being entertained at 1-0 down. It was a fascinating game between what looked like 2 decent teams not playing as well as they can but quite effectively nullifying the other.

It was a good afternoon and I like watching Lee Johnson’s team.

The lack of flow and cohesiveness (really in the final third) is purely down to players not knowing each other inside out yet- but we are still dominating games so I believe we're showing great signs. It's clear we're a work in progress and may need to be patient at time- if that's possible with some Hibs fans.

To have the attacking players we had on the field on Saturday with Nisbet, McKirdy, McGeady and Magennis to come back is some prospect.

I think we’re going in the right direction.

We could be doing with a centre forward starting to score with a bit of regularity, that’s the biggest miss at the moment for me.

Having Boyle back has transformed us in an attacking sense though.

The main thing for me is that for the majority of games it’s been night and day from the crap served up under Maloney.

Plenty to improve on but I’m already looking forward to the County game where as last season it was going along out of routine more than anything.

Yes but it's not just about getting to Europe it's about doing something in Europe, not just being bundled out in the first round like so many Scottish teams over the years.

With the current Scottish coefficient this would be the most important 3rd place we have ever achieved if we can manage it. I want what Hearts have this season and the money made would hopefully keep us competitive at the top end of the league for years to come.

So far so good and we need to get a good lead above Hearts whilst they have congested fixtures. We defiantly need to go into the World Cup break a good few points ahead of them.

I think the season so far has highlighted the inherent corruption and bias in Scottish Football where certain teams get ALL the decisions in their favour.

I genuinely believe that rat Petrie has instructed Referees to dish out Red Cards to anybody playing Hibs, and award us dubious penalties, at every opportunity.

Hibernian FC, the Establishment club!

I posted this stat in the we need to talk about Johnson thread but we have created an average 18 chances per game with 50 in the past two games.

Johnson said the team should have learned all his ideas etc by October so looking on course for that.

Our next games on paper are decent also.

GGTTH.

If you're taking about attempts on goal, they're not really 'chances' are they. For example a shot from outside the box, or from a tight angle, couldn't be classed as a chance. I'm not going to get into all that XG stuff or whatever, that's like advanced physics!

However, getting often into positions where we can take a shot is much more prevalent than in the recent past.

If we can get all bar nisbet back by middle of october should have a good points total going into the world cup break.Squad looks pretty good but one game at a time and all that.👍

Yesterday was improvement; the first few games weren't good enough. Perhaps LJ is now getting his ideas across, and we will see steady improvement. I felt encouraged leaving the ground yesterday.

A few dodgy performances here and there but have to admit I've really enjoyed this season so far. More than I was expecting to anyway and yesterdays performance definitely helped that. Already buzzing for the next game.

Enjoying getting to know the new players as well and after being initially disappointed in his appointment I have to admit I'm really liking LJ. Just seems like a good guy and it's clear what he's trying to implement at the club.

I'm one of the negative posters and even although the pen and red card was huge I was impressed with how we played for most of the game.
We have a very big squad and it will be great to get guys like Nisbet back.
Magennis is sadly another story, hope I'm wrong but not convinced he'll play many games for Hibs.

Not yet it's not, it's about getting Europe first. Worry about what we do in Europe once/if we get there.
