Crap for me, got something else on.
It’s not the worst time in the world for a game but enough games get moved for TV and that’s is had two game moved to Friday night now (not even for TV).

Looks like Hibs are trying something new.
After discussions with the SPFL, Police Scotland, and St Johnstone, we requested to move the fixture to trial a new initiative for the Club, and the league, by bringing back Friday night football.
A leader and innovator in Scotland, we are trying something different and want to create a special atmosphere under the lights at Easter Road.

Is this for TV?
If games are to be moved from the traditional berth, I prefer a Friday night to an early KO on a Sat/Sun.
* edit - just spotted Kojok’s post above.

Hearts at home to Celtic that day, imagine it would have been this or the Sunday. Good choice from the club should be a cracking atmosphere.

October school holiday week across Scotland, so likely to be plenty of people had already made plans to be away that night.

Not letting you buy them on the ticketing system yet, surely, they'd make them available when making this announcement. As folk will then just go through to buy tickets.

Each to their own I guess but for me I much prefer the Sat 3pm KOs, especially for a game against likes of St Johnstone. It's a different atmosphere compared to say Hearts, Celtic or Rangers.
After a busy week, it's a bit of a mad rush for most who work at full tilt Mon-Fri 9-5.
Prices are great but it could have been this for the Saturday too.
Maybe being streamed live on Hibs TV
I reckon they can sell PPV for it now.

It can't be on Saturday though because Hearts v Celtc, this sounds better than being on a Sunday.
As usual, the social media is full of complaints.

Not ideal for me as will be a bit of a rush to get there but I suppose they need to experiment with different ideas to grow the game. I would have thought charging normal prices would have been a true judge of how popular the scheme is rather than the reduced rate though.
On that thought the St Johnstone fans are well in on their luck at Easter Road! I’m sure that’s the third game in a row where they have had discounted tickets.

Well done Hibs as its good to see clubs try and show some imagination.
It might not suit everyone but neither does a Saturday at 3:00pm.

No coincidence St Johnstone are the 'beneficiaries' of this again. Their family pricing is exceptionally good so glad to see us reciprocate for them.
Interesting to see Hibs have pitched the adults prices at a tenner this time after the success of the blanket £5 last season. I said at the time we should keep experimenting with it until we find that sweet spot (if it exist) at which prices are reduced but crowds rise by enough to cover it.
I love a Friday night game too so from a selfish viewpoint I'm happy about this. Obviously a shame for those who work or have prior engagements.

Fri evenings are generally great for the home support - straight from work to the pub and thence to ER with no school day next day. Not so good for away supporters - some of whom would find it nigh on impossible without time off work - eg. Aberdeen.

There's always some folk that will moan about everything.
Best ignored.
Whilst the kick-off time won't suit some, all kick-off times affect someone's ability to go to the game.
Any game under the lights is a winner for me, just something about proper night time fixtures that gets me.

Friday nights are much better than lunchtime kick offs. Hibs should be applauded for trying something different plus at these prices everyone is a winner.

I am sorta selfish on this one, because it is at Easter Road I don't mind this because I can make the game, I am however peed off that the Aberdeen game was shifted because by the looks of it I will not be able to get away early on that afternoon to make it up to Aberdeen but I am obligated to buy a ticket for it despite the game being moved.
I like Friday night football, the atmosphere is better and the pricing for this one is excellent. Clubs need to think about the opponents before shifting to a Friday night, getting to Dingwall or Aberdeen, or Aberdeen or Ross County fans getting to the central belt on a Friday evening is not easy and will effect the crowd.

I like the idea of a Friday night game.
Get the points in the bag and then have the full weekend ahead of you - sounds great.
Did we have a few of them in the championship? For some reason I have Dundee United in my head as being the opposition.

Friday night football was quality in the championship. Some cracking atmospheres against United yeah. Then thinking they'd won the league after a very lucky 1-0 win at Tannadice.

How much of the energy at ER comes from the solar panels on the roof? Not being arsey just wondering.

Good for Hibs to try this out and see how it goes, good prices also.
Glad it's been announced early as this was the weekend I was gonna come up for but will now come up for the St Mirren game after as to much of a rush Friday for me to travel, check in and make it to Easter Road.

Considering the disgusting 60% increase St Johnstone put on disabled tickets for the opening game of the season it does stick in the craw a bit that they're the recipients of this offer after also getting the £5 deal from us last season.
Also not a fan of moving games from Saturday 3pm to a midweek slot as it's not so easy for non-Edinburgh residents like myself to make these games but that's the age we will live in I suppose.

If your thinking of moving it then why not contact your season ticket holder that paid money up front if they want it moved

Ultimately, you pay for entry to the match, not a say in when it kicks off.
Hibs, I think, should get some credit for trying something different, lowering the prices during a time when folk need it most, and trying to get that Stubbs/Lennon under the lights atmosphere back. Some absolutely magic nights. Derby wins, beating Aberdeen and United in the league cup etc.
It wont suit everyone, but plenty of people would've missed the Saturday for x or y reason anyway.

Friday night is better than Sunday afternoon which is when the game would’ve had to be. Hearts are at home to Celtic on the Saturday lunchtime so there isn’t really a Friday night v Saturday 3pm discussion to be had around this

Also didn’t realise both us and Hearts (v Celtc) were both due to be at home on the Saturday
