I think this might be just the start of sport being cancelled.

Yawn. Couldn't care less for the monarchy but have sympathy for a family who've lost a loved one. However, call me selfish, but working all week just to have my weekend (possibly two) scuppered by cancelling most sports is annoying. It's needless. Hopefully the F1 is still on at least...

Think it's understandable for that particular sport. It was a lifelong passion of the Queen's and her long-standing support was a boost for UK horse racing.

and to keep supporting her lifelong passion im sure she wouldve wished it continue, especially with the financial difficulties with horse racing the past few years

Following the deaths of the previous 4 monarchs no racing took place following their deaths until after the state funerals (This is probably the first time that one of The Classics would have to be postponed though).

It’s looking very like, all sporting events will be cancelled for the 12 days mourning

Racing's back on Sunday, apart from Musselburgh. The St Leger is getting run then.

2 of Musselburgh's biggest race meetings of the year. I live just across the road from the racetrack and it's been a hive of activity this week getting everything ready.

Hopefully they'll be insured for losses, but if not, it will cost them a fortune.

Bumped into a couple from the north of England in the Standing Order who were up for the Musselburgh races and were asking me about where to go out in Edinburgh. Turned out it was their honeymoon!

They actually asked me if there were any sports bars in Edinburgh that showed foreign horse racing, but I'm pretty sure there aren't apart from bookies!
