I've just moved after far too long in London to near York (Helmsley if anyone knows it).

Just wondering apart from Hibby Radge are there other Hibbies in York and if so are there any meet ups to watch fitba or travel to games?

No idea of any people but Helmsley is a nice place. Pretty sure it has / had an open air 'heated' pool which I took the kids to when we were there on holiday. Early July and it was absolutely freezing.

Worst holiday decision ever.

He's here!

There was definitely at least one poster on here who stayed in York - not sure if they still do but I seem to recall occasional meet-ups being arranged.

I'm in Harrogate, not too far away. Unsure if there are any more hibees around here except for my Dad!

I'm an hour from York but tend to go via West Coast for games as way cheaper than leeds/york way.

I thought this was a bit harsh as well.

Ooops! I meant I was already aware you were in York - not that I was excluding you :greengrin

Haven't tried the open air pool yet - I may now give it a miss!

Hi

I'm in Pocklington.

Met an elderly chap here one day. He's 93 years young and Hibs daft. Told me he was originally from Leith and went to St Anthonys. Lets just say we spoke at length about Gordon Smith!

Helmsley is lovely but I'd maybe consider a weekend away when it's the Steam Rally weekend, that's a bit bonkers.

Anyway back on topic. Are there enough Hibbies around here for a meet up once in while? :greengrin

I remember seeing a group of fans with Harrogate Hibs jerseys at many games but I`m probably talking of 30 years ago so not much help now .
There`s a Fans Group section on club website but maybe not representative of where Hibs fans live . Orkney group mentioned but no Shetland ( over the years we have certainly had fans from Shetland , likewise Caithness ) . Italy but nowhere else in mainland Europe ( will be Scottish and Irish Hibs fans who live in Spain , Portugal, Greece etc as well as folk from many places who have become Hibbies after living in Scotland then returned home ). Yorkshire not mentioned either . Nor Australia , New Zealand or North America .
As our 150th anniversary approaches , maybe some kind of international fan reunion could be arranged on or around 6th August 2025 ? In pèrson and virtual I suppose .

The next time I’m in York or surrounding areas I will give you a
call for a pint so that you won’t be alone 😁

Give me a shout anytime. There are lots of very good pubs in York.
