Understand the yellow cards now, didn't realise Beaton was the ref, explains it.

As long as we’re creating as many chances as we did I won’t worry. Nice to go back over the bridge today in a good mood with 3 points in the bag.

Wish Bojang had scored really feel for the lad he had 40 yards to think about what he was going to do with 15000 people watching and probably just panicked. He has all the right attributes and can be a success with the right coaching.

3 points and a clean sheet.

Defence was hardly troubled but when call upon thought both Hanlon and Porteous done well in that department.

See what a difference when Joe Newell gets more involved and gets forward! More of the same of that again next week please.

Should really be walking away at least 3-0.

Great pace and touch from Bojang at the end but a very weak finish.

Also, bonjang isn’t the answer even off the bench. I do generally like our options of boyle youan mckirdy and melkersen.

And big Mike when he’s clear work permit wise and Nissy when he’s back from injury.

Begs the question, how many strikers to Hibs need to score a goal

Bojang
Youan x 2
Henderson x 2

All absolutely massive chances and should have made it so much more comfortable than it was.

I will take a 1-0 win against a Derek mcinnes side every day of the week.

Behave yourself. That laddie has shown his quality this season and last season.

Missed a good chance though, that seems to meet your criteria for launching folk from the club.

Thought that was decent good 3 points, Newell was like a different man as well looked lively willing to get forward maybe the cushion of having Kenneh is good for him, Hanlon also looked good getting back to his old self some really good defending at times from him.

Think Lovell hit nail on the head with work rate need to be better on that also worry about youan looked well off it today, mckirdy looked lively looking forward to him settling in be interesting to see who plays through the middle of the Ukrainian guy gets clearance

We dominated possession yet again. Another red helps with that mind and we really need to start putting away some of these chances.

We needed a win and got it so let's build from there.

Also Joe Newell is our best midfielder. Fight me! :D

It’s 100% decision making that’s his issue.

1st half he was played through over the top of the left wing and took too long and they ended up winning a goal kick. 30 seconds later he was through against with a similar pass and he melted his cross first time into the stand, it’s like the previous was playing on his mind.

Imo he tries to do too much with the ball at times, he should just knock it past folk and run.

Another game that doesn’t tell us much playing against ten men. Still, very important 3 points, Bojang is…interesting…and we desperately need a fit and in form Magennis or we will bleed points for not signing a CM playmaker.

Pleased with the 3 points, We could have scored 3 or 4 decision making could be better in the final third but its a new team it will take time for them to gel and we are only 2 points behind the mighty hearts and 3rd place so upwards and onwards come on the hibs :flag:

Very hard to open them up today until late on in the game, they were very happy to sit in and make it tight when they went down to 10, was never going to be easy. That being said we should have scored at least 4, will take the win but our forwards need to be a bit more clinical, that miss by bojang was bad when 1 on 1

Good performance first half, decent enough second half but made a bit harder work of it than we should have.

Thought most played well but I thought Porteous wasn’t great again, Henderson was extremely poor and Campbell whilst not doing anything wrong was largely anonymous.

Big positives today were Newell and Hanlon for me.

It was Porteous' fantastic long ball to Boyle that resulted in the red card and goal. Also, he almost scored a wonderful headed goal in the second half after a great one two with Boyle.

Thought it was worth mentioning since I know some people like to moan about him.

Headless chicken..........:greengrin Its like folk seem to just forget or ignore the situation folk were brough in, we knew he was a punt and that he had potential...We know he isnt the finished article or that he's never played at this level...we know the management team think theres potential and hes being given a chance..Who knows if he will make it but the sort term expectations of some have written him off already...Delighted they all made the grade straight away in their chosen professions.

Tough to celebrate that win as we really made a meal of it. Hopefully just an off day for Youan but that’s a number of good chances he’s missed now, it’s getting difficult to justify him playing centrally.

Henderson also very poor and I thought Campbell did nowhere near enough to get on the ball. He seems to just stand “up front” in the hope he’ll get on the end of something.

Great from Marshall and Newell today though and glad to see Kenneh back in the team. Hopefully McKirdy starts next week

I don’t think it was just Youan. There were poor decisions being made all over the pitch today. Some of those in the final third cost us the additional goals we deserved which would have made things a bit more comfortable.

A positive first ten minutes even when Killie had 11 men with some good play and looking to get forward at times.

The players and the staff now have to work on that this week and look to put a good run together in the next 4 games before we go to Celtic park which of course will be our hardest game of the season.

possession was exactly the same

Shots
v Hibs 12/23
v Heartz 12/6

Shots on target
v Hibs 6/5
v Heartz 6/0

Corners
v Hibs 3/14
v Heartz 3/3

First Home game in over two seasons
Was delighted we won
Better team till we scored
But after that there were periods where were too slow and ponderous in our build up play that made it easy for them to defend
But they were creating very little
Second half they were trying to get forward more and it allowed us to create chances
But we are inept at taking them which for me remains a concern
One goal won this game but we really need to do better
Hanlon has been getting a lot of flak but thought he had a decent game Porto seemed to have lots of the ball and tried to set up the runners but for every one executed several went astray
Mckirdy was lively when he came on but was often ignored in acres of space out wide
But think he will get us goals
Youan had a lot of nice touches snd good movement but for me he isn’t a natural goal scorer Hopefully he csn work on that part of his game snd improve
Overall though I left feeling a bit flat and frustrated
I predicted a hibs win but there is a lot of work to be done to get us into top six and then challenging for fourth which is Ron’s aim and expectation
A fit on form Mcgennis would help in the midfield No question of that and Henderson for me isn’t in right position but isn’t bringing much to the team Was happy to see him subbed
Once the Ukrainian guy gets some game time L J needs to het a formation and front three that can add more goals
Things can only improve going forward

They've had a total of 14 shots on target in their last 6 games, 6 of which were in their 3-2 win v St Johnstone and that run also takes in their much lauded performance v Zurich. (Suppose their 4 on target that night is good by their standard).

There was a 81-19% derby game, dunno if it was that one. Its almost impossible to get more than that, i think the highest recorded is 85-15 or something.

Even though our derby record is generally abysmal, we quite iften have the most of the ball. No comfort in that obviously.

Looking back that just makes me more angry than anything because we should have taken that opportunity to pay them back for some of the hammerings they'd given us over the years. Once again Gordon was almost inhuman, Jones' goal was practically unsaveable but he still somehow got a hand to it and almost stopped it going in.

Anything over 80% is fairly historic and unusual. (although with PSG/City/Bayern/Celtic increasing their domestic dominance i can see it happening again)

Same thing with the 0-1 at ER after we won the LC. It was a standard tactic by Ivanauskas & co.
