Michael Hector centre back available after leaving Fulham in the summer, ex Aberdeen with over 170 championship appearances as well as some Bundesliga experience.
Probably out of our range wages wise though !!

Our squad is absolutely huge as it is - it's too big. Yes it is imbalanced, top heavy and missing the experienced CB and CM we were craving but there is no more room at the Inn.. surely

I saw on either Scotsman or Evening news online about 11 players who are free agents with experience in UK football in the past in all different positions now, for some reason the title said that "Hearts Could Aim To Sign" or some **** like no other teams can bid.

But one I can't remember for Fulham years ago was a player called Patjim Kasami, says he's a central midfiedlder who likes to get forward which is definitely something we need. i checked is wiki page after leaving Fulham about 8 years ago aged 22 he scored 6 in the league and 9 in all competitions for Olympiacos, ended up back in Switzerland the last few years, around a goal every 3 or 4 games from midfield for Sion and was the same 20/21 for Basel but last season only 3 with just 16 appearences, not sure if injuries played apart afrer having a good first season and playing all their games, doesn't mention it. Also 12 caps for Switzerland with a couple goals. 30 years old and Basel his contract at Basel ended.

A lot were forwards and wingers or more central attacking midfeilders like Rogic who would be class for us and also probably have a lot of clubs willing to pay more wages looking at him, surprised he's a free agent to be honest but even if hypothetically we could afford his wage we have so many forward options now hopefully if we have a budget for wages we can get a CM in hes's more of an attacking midfielder than a cm who can drive forward which is what we need. there will be plenty all over europe we don't know about too that hopefully the club are looking at with decent experience at a not bad level.

I know we signed fish but he's still young and not much experience and even if he is good I feel we're still short in defence, it also mentioned that big guy Michael Hector who was at Aberdeen for a while years ago, I remember he looked decent, still only 30. I had a look at wiki and somehow Chelseas signed him but never played him and loaned him to reading, frankfurt, hull and sheff wed where he played for all of them most games, signed for Fulham in 2019 and played most games and helped get them promoted. Says he got his premier league debut when they got promoted but then fell out of favour only playing less than 10 games since then and was still getting called up for Jamaica until the end of 2021.

Doesn't mention any injuries with him, think he probably stuck around for the wage after they signed new defenders when being promoted or something im guessing, he would be rusty although probably been playing with the under23's or reserves if they have reserves in England still.

They're two positions we're crying out for both had exerience in uk and abroad, not much sell on value at 30 but they'd be free transfers if they could improve the club which I reckon Hector who seems to have improved since he was at Aberdeen would at the back.

Kasami I can't remember for Fulham but he sounds like the style of midfielder we really need. Unsure what they're wages would be But Fulham got Hector when they were in the championship and never gave him a new contract, hasn't played first team football in a good while and Kasami has fell out of favour at Basel and both 30 so cant imagine theyd be demanding sky high wages and want to join a team where they get the chance to play and in Hectors case so he can keep being called up for his country.

I know they said the budget was gone but we have signed free agents out of contract before after the window, there must be a ton of them throughout europe etc where atleast 1 is the the type of midfielder and not out of our budget we're crying out for.

Is he available on a free? I would love that myself although I have only seen him when he played against us since he left. Whats the reason Aberdeen didn't want to keep him on?

If he was fit and still has the ability and love for the game he had when he was here then that would make sense, controls the tempo of a game so well, very intelligent at reading the game too. When Magennis is back, a midfield 3 of Kenneh sitting back behind Mcgeough and Magennis would be decent

He couldn't even get a regular game in the worst Aberdeen team for about 20 years .... He'll always be a legend here and rightly so, but when it comes to Dylan you just can't help thinking his first time at Hibs was a period he will never replicate ..... not for me I'm sorry to say.

The guy left Celtc in the summer for “a new challenge”, after playing just about every week for them last season, and they wanted him to stay.

Surely we can accept that a move to a club in the same division, with less chance of trophies, and for far less money, isn’t the new challenge he’ll be looking for?

Aw ate 18-3 in the league but played 11 and scored 2 in the cup, I never looked along to the cup bit. I thought he maybe got injured with missing about a playing a lot less league games than the year before but if he was playing 11 games in the cup I imagine that runs quite far into the season. Maybe they just signed someone new.

Have you seen him play? Is he good? I can't remember him for Fulham and his last swiss cap was 7 years ago or something but he has still been good at every club he has been at it looks like.

Also I wonder what kind of wages he would have been earning at Sion and Basel. I'd imagine it would be higher than here but not massive? He seems to have been consistent throughout his career though so can see a few other teams being in for him even if we could stretch a wage for him there probably a good few teams who can pay more in Europe looking for him.

Just when I read then searched he sounds exactly the type we need in the middle and is free from a club now.

Hmm, maybe that Luton in recent years would wipe the floor with Hibs. And Snodgrass when fit, would walk into our team.

Luton releasing him doesn't really have any bearing on whether he's a good signing for a Scottish Premier team.

Similar to McGeady probably. If he gets luck with injuries then it could turn out to be a good signing. If he gets injured then you will have plenty saying I told you so.

They said that about McGeady and we did sign him. He's the old crock we've taken a chance on. Fletcher for Dundee United. Hearts taking a punt on Snodgrass.

I don't doubt the quality evident in YouTube reels from 2019. We all tell ourselves that players can play until later years these days. The fact is long careers and too many injuries tell and especially on wingers.

Worth a shot if we didn't have McGeady? Perhaps. I wouldn't take a chance on too many at once. An expensive experiment for an injured dad's army.

What does it say? A club can have aspirations to sign anyone they want but it’s all about getting the deal over the line.

Snodgrass claims he was talking to ‘five or six’ teams before plumping for Hearts. Far from inconceivable that we were one of them.

What does it say? A club can have aspirations to sign anyone they want but it’s all about getting the deal over the line.

Snodgrass claims he was talking to ‘five or six’ teams before plumping for Hearts. Far from inconceivable that we were one of them.

And as usual, means Hearts offered him the biggest wage paid for by someone else’s money. Hope he’s a flop but knowing there luck he’ll be brilliant and injury free all season.

Probably the most baffling rumour i've seen on here in recent years.

Celtic wanted to keep him, he wanted a new challenge. People on here thought that the challenge he wanted was here on a fifth of the money:faf:

Anyone know how long McGeady is expected to be out for?
