On form an excellent centre forward at this level but hasn’t been the same player post injury. Hopefully he finds his form at Killie and returns as the player he’s shown before who was chapping on the door of an international call up.

Scored some important goals for us and by all accounts a smashing chap who will surely be boosting Sainsbury's takings in the Kilmarnock area (#bottlesclinkingsounds)

Good luck Van Doidgedonk.

He's never been the same since his injury. Shame because after a slow start he was a big player for us.

I doubt we'll see him in a Hibs strip again. The correct decision for all parties I think and suggests we have a replacement ready to go which is exciting.

Don't care what you guys say, I loved Doidge. Big awkward striker who was good in the air and scored bucketloads of goals when fit, almost all of them seemingly scored completely by accident. The kind of striker we never seem to sign and won't see again for a long time.

Hopefully finds his form at Killie and comes back next year for a swansong.

The question now is, with wiggle room opened up what is our recruitment team capable of...?

My thoughts exactly. Scored for fun once he got his confidence from November 2019 onwards in that truncated season and had a key role in the Doidge-Boyle-Nisbet partnership that got nearly 50 goals & got us 3rd in 2020/21.

But those days are gone now, time to wish him the best and move on.

Like big Doidge, but him and Hibs were going nowhere together.

Surprised on current form that Killie are willing to take a chance on him.Wouldn’t surprise me that as part of the loan deal,Hibs are paying a big wedge of his wages.

Would like to see it work out for him,but have my doubts.

Just as I doubt that we will ever see him in a Hibs strip again.

Yep, pretty sure he never found the net under Heckingbottom then banged in a hat-trick the week he left. Had a great season after that but as you say something's lacking since his injury lay-off. After opening the season with another hat-trick v Clyde I was struggling to understand why he seemed to lack confidence but then maybe that's just down to how poor Clyde were.

Good bloke. All the best to him.

Nothing against him but it's the right decision.

The more that LJ empties this squad, the more I like him.

He’s had 10 shots in the league this season giving him the 4th highest number of shots per 90 minutes of all non-OF strikers and he’s only managed to hit the target once. His performances can’t solely be blamed on those around him.

The strikers at the teams above us are all significantly outperforming him on this metric.

Shankland, 322 mins - 13 shots - 9 on target (69%)
Miovski, 386 mins - 13 shots - 9 on target (69%)
van Veen, 444 mins - 14 shots - 7 on target (50%)
Main, 302 mins - 12 shots - 4 on target (33%)
Nouble, 426 mins - 12 shots - 5 on target (42%)
Doidge, 277 mins - 10 Shots - 1 on target (10%)

He is even slower than he was and looks to have less of an engine. He is a streaky striker but I just can't see him scoring regularly. If he plays every week till the end of the season I'd guess he will get about 5 if he is lucky. I wish him well but I think getting rid is the right move and I'm surprised any SPL clubs have taken him given his form. I can only presume we are footing a fair amount of his wage

He’s not being moved on because of boo boys though. It’s a good move for both parties because he’s contributed next to nothing in almost every game he’s played since Christmas now. We need to replace with better and he could do with a change to hopefully get his career back on track.

I agree seems like a really likeable guy and wish him well too… apart from his games against us and almost inevitable goal!
