Don't want to knock him but surely too early to have him back in the 1st team, time will tell but we need a replacement for him, don't laugh but I hope rocky is fine for the huns, I really think there's a player there

I'm not sure there was too much choice but to play him on Saturday.

With Rocky out our options were Hanlon, an untried youngster or a guy who is essentially in semi retirement.

Our defensive record last season was good and we look pretty well sorted in the full back positions. We need another CB to add a bit depth though. Rocky is winning me round very quickly and Porteous will emerge from the wee rut he's been in lately, arguably already has. Paul has had a few injury issues in recent years and I'm not convinced he's good for 30+ games a season now. Even if he could guarantee that we still need another option imo. It's one of the various key positions we still seem to have failed to address.

Didn't have much choice. McLelland would have been ragdolled even more than Hanlon was. Rocky missing was a huge blow.

I was fearing the worst when he made the poor contribution at the first goal but he actually settled well and went on to have a good game.

The CH situation isn't a good one for us. We're an injury or late transfer bid for Porto away from being in deep trouble. It's not great that we've already had to rush a player back from injury to play on a ropey pitch because of a lack of alternatives, a situation we were fortunate didn't go badly wrong for us.

Why not just play Daz for 60 then if things were going well, bring Hanlon on for his 1st start of the season?

Chucking Hanlon in for his 1st start against the leagues most improved player was asking for trouble.

Porteous had the easiest game of his life on Saturday. Was obvious that Nouble had been told pre match to target Hanlon by either Martindale or big Marv.

Horrible game for him to come in to as he really struggles against livi even before Nouble came along.

Thought he was much better second half but sure Rocky will be straight back in when fit.
