Hope after yesterday that lee Johnson realises the need. to bring in even on loan a centre back and 2 central midfield players. Let’s hope that theirs no money left in the kitty.:flag:

This question was answered last week. LJ stated that we were talking to 4 or 5 others even while negotiating with Boyles club.

We still desperately need a central midfielder that can carry the ball , score goals , box to box. What we have currently is either not good enough or unreliable

Surely that should read " let's hope that there's
money left in the kitty"

Well out with our price range I’d suspect.

We have four centre backs already and two others in the squad who can cover in the event of injuries and suspensions.

We’re also strong at full back, keeper and forward players.

Midfield is the area we need a signing

In his interview after the Hearts game, Johnson said that he was looking to add "1 or 2 others". Hopefully that's a centre half and a goalscoring centre mid.

If we are playing a central 3 in midfield we need the two that play ahead of Kenneh to be a goal threat and chip in with 5 or 6 goals each. At the moment the centre mids we have (I'm not including Magennis) don't offer any goal threat at all. If we go with that midfield we'll have the same problem as last season in that we won't score enough goals.

Wonder who will leave or head out on loan. Presumably Tait, Mcclelland and maybe Bojang?
Must be the chance of a surprise exit or two as well.

Was Bojang not signed as a first team player?

I'm fairly certain he's here on loan regardless.

Bojang is a first team signing and is on loan to us so he won’t be going out on loan lol.

We currently have one fully fit CB who is good enough for a top 3/4 side. We 100% need to get an experienced CB onboard. 26/27 - 3 year contract.

Bojang is on loan here. Why would Hibs bring in a player on loan and then loan him out to someone else?

I would take that to mean speaking to 4/5 others with a view to making offers to 1/2 of them. Not expecting 4/5 new faces - unless a few are known to be leaving this window?

We’re a first XI CB, CM & CF away at the moment imo.
We were crying out for another proven goalscorer even when we had Boyle, Nisbet & Doidge all playing.

Suspect we’ll only see a CB, though, and probably not a starter.

We've got so many options up front these days that I'd be surprised if Doidge *wasn't* out the door by the end of the month. He's about the only eligible candidate, and Ron Gordon is likely going to need a few bodies off the wage bill.

I wasn't aware of that but thanks for the snippy reply regardless.

I know I’ve posted this a few times, but would like to see Tait given a chance. I don’t think his performance against Norwich can have done his prospects any harm although I obviously don’t see him in training every day. I’d be disappointed if he was sent out on loan again.

What about the stated View from our coaching team, that he isn’t effective enough off the ball to play first team regularly yet , and he needs to develop that ? Wouldn’t that suggest he should go on loan

I’d rather he got the chance to develop that with us. Can’t remember how long he signed for, but if he does go out on loan again that will be a minimum of 18 months he’s not been an option for us. It’s not as if we are Chelsea or Man City who can afford to sign players we only ever put out on loan.

But he’ll get hardly any game time here ? His development would be quicker playing first team games ..

Depends if we sign another midfielder I guess ? Don’t know how long Campbell will be out for (and I don’t want to start another debate on his merits) but our only other midfielder on the bench on Sunday was JDH. Don’t think we can ever count on Magennis playing regularly.

Don’t know if I believe him or if he’s ITK, for a couple of things wrong in the past like in Portugal.
