It’s great news about Martin Boyles being back at Hibs again, I can recall from 60 odd years following Hibs that their has some wonderful players who have come back to us. My first recollection was in 1959 when that great wee inside right Bobby Johnstone returned and was part of a great forward line that scored 102 goals that season McLeod, Johnstone, Baker,Preston, Ormand. Joe Bakers return and a winning one as he scored the winner v Aberdeen circa 1971 at ER. Mickey Weir was also one of favourites hopefully Boyle will have positive impact yet again.:flag::flag:

Not as salubrious as those mentioned above but I'll be making my comeback tomorrow. The first match I'm attending since covid kicked in - with my renewed season ticket in hand 😊

Hopefully I'll not be the only one in that situation and many more will follow us.

I’m not as young as you brother but I’m also back with my new season ticket for the East Stand.

Three years eight months ago I collapsed at a home game and the club doctor sent me to ERI recommending a scan. When we were told inoperable and metastatic cancer I thought I’d eaten my last half-time pie but the man above clearly had other plans. So sixty one years after my faither Hugh took me to my first Derby, here we go again.

Dad always said that this game is like a boxing match. If we lose an early goal, every single one of us must pump up the volume and inspire the Hibs players to fight back. He taught me that if you get knocked down, you get straight back up again and fight back with all your might.

Let’s be that Hibs12thMan today!! GGTTH 💚🇳🇬👊👊🦾

Nice wee story that bud (obviously not the part about you collapsing). I'm glad you're good again and I hope you will be attending many many more derbies in future.

All the best 👍

I was reading earlier we have had 13 players return for a 2nd (or even 3rd) spell this century. Boyle being the most recent, Brebner being the 1st.

Tbh I thought it was more the way people go on about us being obsessed with players coming back. Plenty of them have done well 2nd time around as well.

Sparky?

I meant Leigh but when I type it, it must be McNulty?

Bogdan?

That's the one

Re McNulty and Leigh the list I saw included those who had been on loan then came back permanently but not those who had 2 loan spells.

Would never have got Daquin, can't even remember him.

He's here!

John Blackley, Pat McGinlay.

Oh and Peter Cormack.

The teams Blackley and Cormack returned to were a very pale shadows of the ones they left - and that's putting it kindly.

I thought Brebner's loan and later signing were both late 90's? Might mean there's another player, if this century?

Could be right mate, I just took it from PBs post.

Pat Goals McGinlay

Very much underrated box to box midfielder who could chip in with his fair share of goals with his late runs into the box

Pretty sure we paid 420k to sign him back from the last to wear the green

We could do with a Pat McGinlay now

The greatest of them all, Joe Baker. Saw his goal scoring return against Aberdeen.
