@HibsAnnouncer on Twitter if you're on there.

I believe he also posts on here.

Wouldn't trust him not to just ignore your requests, even if promising not to, has done twice when I've made requests, and I know others with similar experiences.

I've not made many requests for a shout out but the ones I have made were fulfilled including one last season which was done at very short notice.

If he was chocolate he would eat himself.
I went to a 70th party at ER & he was dj. Woman whose party it was who was a hibby requested the final song. His reply NO its always SOL.
FFS she was the one who paid for the f!@£3n party.

Yup, I had that experience as well. Twice last season in fact.

Went through kp for one and @hibsannouncer for the other.

Disappointing.

Hey guys

Thanks for the messages and I’m more than happy to accommodate any requests that you send over. As you can imagine There can be a load of requests that come through that we don’t always get round to announcing or sharing but I always will do my upmost to get through them where I can.

There is alot of production around half time these days especially with the screens in place now so I am also stretched in terms of working with the studio in my ear to adhere to timings and schedules for ad play out and any other activity.

I realise I’m never going to be able to please everyone but will always do my best to do what I can.

What I can’t answer to is the chocolate comment….sounds completely out of character as sunshine in leith is actually a track (believe it or not) that we tend not to use as the last song. In these situations (if I am the dj on request) which isn’t always the case, I‘ll always do what the person that books wants (as they pay). Can you give me the date of the party and the person involved so I can 1 check it was me and two apologise to the person if there has been a breakdown in the way I delivered that.

I have been at the club 12 years and care a lot about getting it right with feedback so would be great to take this on board but again let me know the date and party and I’ll just confirm that was me.

Would it not be better to send photos in and have it on the screens at a suitable time.

I know Barrie and the chocolate comment is way wide of the mark 😂

Well he has given you a detailed answer so hopefully this can be addressed once you get in touch with him.

I thought after the whole Rocky saga that we would try and stop the personal abuse towards people involved with Hibs considering they clearly read the comments.

No need for the personal comments whatsoever. If one thing I have found with Barry (who I don't know personally btw) is that he is very approachable and open to feedback, both in person and online.

Where's the abuse?

Looks like the chocolate comment is unnecessary and certainly abusive. It’s a little disappointing that some people don’t see that as abuse IMHO

If that's abuse then nearly every disagreement on every thread on here is abusive, almost anyone who has engaged in any kind of debate on here will have had worse directed at them.

I can assure you, that you were the DJ that night & you did say that about SOL being the last song. The comment made about chocolate was actually made by the woman whose party I was attending. If any offence taken by the chocolate comment I apologise.

Barrie, thanks for Josh’s birthday shout-out, he was dead chuffed about it!

Genuinely the first of his birthdays that I’ve remembered to ask about so he didn’t expect it at all!
