Has to start v St. Johnstone :aok:

Make it so Lee, he's a very talented footballer indeed :agree: assured, technically good, mature head on very young shoulders.

How he’s not had a chance is beyond me. We’re hardly awash with great midfielders.

He looks brilliant. Would 100% be giving him a chance.

Tait is young but he has decent first team experience under his belt. He has nearly as many first team appearances so far in his career as McGinn did when he signed for us (and twice as many as McGeouch). In his last half season at Raith he was the main man of their midfield and most of their play went through him.

Definitely worth giving a chance based on today

Tait, Newell, Henderson. That’s my 3 for Saturday.

Looks a player.

It's the confidence that makes him stand out. Wants the ball, demands it when it doesn't come and wants to try things.

Him and Delferrière look very close to competing for starting spots.

Hopefully the manager gives them a chance, Tait could save the club some cash, just hope they dont send him out on loan again.

I thought he was the one who looks like playing in the first team is realistic. Not convinced Delferriere is as ready yet.

Genuinely surprised he’s not figured more if today was anything to go by. As PB said he looks really confident and definitely not lacking in ability. Hope he gets a chance next week.

Tait, Newell, Henderson. That’s my 3 for Saturday.

Kenneh, Tait, Newell, and Henderson - that would be my starting midfield, good balance, work rate, Newell freed up a little so he can be a little more attacking, and Henderson allowed to get forward centrally.

I'd dispense with playing a natural winger and start Doidge and Melkerson so they continue to develop an understanding, also, Melkerson is quite good out wide anyway and he's fit as a fiddle.

Sure Ron said on that podcast it’s one they are exploring to loan out….

Surely not.

If a young player can’t break in this season over
Some of our midfielders then we have massive problems

Did we ever find out why he didn't go to Portugal? Was it injury?

If he's not been injured I actually think it's poor show from the footballing department that he's not featured more to date.

CM is a problem position and we signed him with a view of him being almost ready for first team.

Delferriere , Tavares on the bench too. Some real good young players like Robbie Hamilton, Blaney , McLelland and McIntyre

You could see after about 5 minutes on the park that he has something. Definitely doesn’t lack confidence but everything he does, he does with a bit of purpose. Whether that’s pressing the ball, passing the ball or whatever. I’d give him a chance.

First time seeing him in a Hibs shirt and was a good performance.

Looks confident and assured on the ball.

I was a massive fan of him at Raith and was pretty disappointed Maloney never got him in to the squad. The Killie loan made very little sense. Easily Raiths best player when we poached him away.

It would be a sin to let him go out on loan with our current options in midfield. Looked comfortable on the ball and wasn’t shy of getting the boot in either. I’d start him next week.

He did.

I didn’t see the game today but if he played as well as is being suggested then we either better have a cracker of a player lined up for centre mid or we need to look to keep him here.

Without a doubt has definitely did himself no harm today!

As I mentioned earlier I hope LJ sees this and doesn’t play it safe with the usual 3.

The way he put it was that they have high hopes for Dylan but they have to weigh up the pros and cons of keeping him here and maybe not getting as much game time as they'd or putting him out on a development type loan where he could still train a couple of days with Hibs and play in the development games.

After his performance today I'd definitely have the laddie in the squad on Saturday.

Very impressed by him.

I'm a big fan of Dylan despite having seen very little of him. He just looks a player. I think there's 2 possible problems. 1) I'm not sure there's anyone on current 1st team staff who has had any dealings with Dylan. He was injured and at Killie last season. 2) I got strong impression in Portugal that we regard Kenneh as a top signing and a future star. From what i've seen i think Dylan could be better but paradoxically Kenneh could be just what we need against uglies and Yams. Of course there's nothing to say they couldn't play together though 2 young players in engine room is a gamble. I really hope though that Dylan is now seen as an integral part of our 1st team squad.

I don’t see why Tait and Kenneh can’t play together.

Kenneh the holding midfielder and Tait the one to drive us forward with intent.

Tait has a bit more about him than Kenneh from what I’ve seen. Kenneh looks like he’ll have a very specific role, thought he was more comfortable today. Tait looks, to me, to be more of an all round, old school, midfielder who is capable of doing a bit of everything.

Expect the midfield that started today to be the midfield that starts in Perth.

Held his own, didnae look out of place - wouldnae be loaning him out when you see what he's competing against.

Also thought Delferriere looked the part.

Kennah, Tait, Henderson. If we're not being pushed too much defensively then bring Newell on for Kennah later in the game.

Really hoping he keep Tait and play him in the first team this season. He's got experience, he's got talent.
