I realise there's a danger this could become a political argument but...
I was just reading that the ban on many single use plastic items in Scotland is to fully come into effect from 12th August (https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/people/single-use-plastics-ban-to-take-full-effect-after-uk-government-move-3778717). I think it was supposed to be from 1st June but was one of the areas of legislation affected by the 'Internal Market Bill'.
I realise this is only one small step, but it's good news that this has now been excluded from the IMB, and we can make at lest some progress in reducing the unnecessary use of plastic.
Here's an article (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-61644344) with some more detail on the changes..
