Why is the attendance so bad for the game tonight? Just had a view of the tickets on line and it’s pretty bad . New players , new manager and a lovely evening. Surly not that many people on holiday. Be lucky if there is 1500 tonight .

Everyone's sitting in the garden watching on PPV with a few beers.

I'd be surprised if it's anywhere near as low as that but some people are having trouble buying tickets online (see Morton tickets thread). As far as I'm aware, there has been no announcement from the club about being able to buy tickets at the game, which would certainly help boost numbers.

Holidays, midweek, folk enjoying the good weather with a few tins and a stream.

The group stage matches are always a quieter affair.

There will be a lot of walk ups tonight - so dinnae worry

I think it will be nearer to 5,000 in attendance, as stated by others there are various reasons people can't get there tonight

The fact is that these early LC group games just don't get the juices flowing, there's probably more interest from fans who want to visit grounds they usually wouldn't like Bonnyrigg Rose than the home games at ER ..... There was a reason groups were dropped from the league cup back in the day and rubbish attendances for big clubs at home was one of them.

I work until 7pm and I can't get to ER for an 7:45 kick off ... If it was a league game or a knock out cup game I would probably take the day off, or at least try to arrange to leave early, but neither is worth it for this game, that and not a single one of my 4 match going pals has expressed an interest in going tonight so I would be on my own ....... I'll be watching on Hibs TV.

Got my ticket for Sunday though ... hope to see some of the new guys in the flesh then :aok:

Working in the weej until 6, no way of getting through, weathers nice, rather watch on the tablet in the garden with a few Britney Spears than be running about daft trying to get through anyway tbh

Changed days in how you are expected to pay for football, days gone by if you decided to attend a game late on you we're a walk up, roll up to a turnstile put your money down enter and watch the game, now it's by a ticket in advance, on line or at the ticket office, a lot of folk just can't be bothered with that palaver, result lower attendance.

You can literally buy a ticket in the queue at the turnstiles, on the bus or in the Mash Tun and use your phone.

Yep, same as the rest of the world. Surely going digital hasn’t had that big a negative effect on our attendances!

This game is cheap as chips. £24 for one adult and two kids.

And the game matters. We need to win and win well.

We need to stay in a cup. We can only win one of the knock out cups.

Far more meaningful than the ill timed Norwich charade.

Can't make tonight because of childcare commitments. Will be back on Sunday though and have tickets for St Johnstone so hopefully I'll be excused.

Which to be honest is not something the majority of us will care about. I will be surprised if tickets for this game have not been on sale for at least a couple of weeks for away fans . If you are desperate to go buy one in the home end and then ask a steward if you can move to the away end.

Old stagers are not used to buying tickets in advance for games like this which would traditionally have been PATG.

It is significantly quicker to buy a ticket on your phone and put in into your google wallet than it ever was to pay at the gate. A great move forward.

It's just 'pre-season' apparently, to be honest I hadn't even given a thought to attending tonight.

I went into a farm shop to buy some veg recently and at the check-oot they wouldn't accept cash ! Card payment or no spuds. I really wanted to pay for each potato individually just because of the card transaction fees they would incur !

It's only quicker if you know what your doing and not everyone does especially the older fan

Been on sale since last Thursday at Cappielow and a sports shop in Greenock. Paper tickets only - no e-sales. Also Morton's game last weekend was away so fans weren't at the ground last Saturday. Hibs confirmed on Monday no sales on the night.

I'd like to think a few people would care. Seems a strange policy to shut out potential revenue from walk ups whether they are home or away fans

Mine is on my iPhone (Apple wallet) when I buy a ticket online and open the pdf it allows me to add it to my wallet. I then scan the QR code at the turnstile. One of our group is not very good with this technology so he goes to the ticket office to buy one. It really is about making life a bit easier but the old fashioned way is still available albeit you have to buy at the ticket office rather than the turnstiles

What age to consider older? My dad is 80 and uses his phone to pay for everything.

It's common for places not to accept cash these days. You gotta move with the times.

If you don't know how, ask someone to show you. You'll learn it in less than 5 mins.

That must’ve been Morton’s decision to sell them themselves though, Clyde’s tickets for our game were all etickets that they could buy online.

Yes, but even if you buy online you don't need to save it to Apple or Google wallet.

The ticket arrives in email via a PDF and all you need to do is click on it and the QR code is there.

Although it pains me to agree with WTC 🙂 he / she is right. I avoided using Google wallet for ages (not sure why but I did) until recently but it really is a doddle.

But there were sales from the ticket office before the match. Ok I assume that none were fir the away end but I same at least one punter who looked like he could be a Morton fan?

Yesterday and today Morton support could call Cappielow and buy a ticket over the phone, which were brought over and collected at the ER ticket office tonight.
Best of a bad job but not a great way to do it.
