I've seen a lot of criticism for them but I like them.

Not entirely sure they go with the rest of the kit though.

Personally don't think they're Hibs socks.

Not for me.

Watching the Bonnyrigg highlights, they reminded me of this kit:

Hated the home strip at first but it has definitely grown on me, socks and all.

I like them. The hoops are part of our history so why not? We should go all out and have a green and white hooped shirt for our 150th anniversary. Imagine the meltdown in the west...

We didn't have the hooped jersey until 1876, our very first jersey in 1875 was plain white so if we're going to wear a commemorative top for our 150th anniversary it will be plain white as opposed to hoops.

The strip we wore when winning the league cup in 72 is the iconic Hibs strip for me. Me being a boring old git I'd have that every season :greengrin

Bang on Billy !

I really like them.

I might be right in saying that when they changed to the white sleeves the body of the shirts switched from dark green to emerald green ?

The socks were the hooped socks in emerald green. A fabulous look at the time and of course emerald green was our colour going into the future.

Also liked the 1914 look dark green top with black socks but my all time favourite is the 1972 look

Not going to disagree on that . The 1972 strip just said one word Hibs!

They’re horrible. The current home kit is an absolute shocker, white shoulders, some bizarre graphic of the roof supports on the front of the top and about three different shades of green through the kit.

They seem to rack their brains every year to bring out something different to the year before. This is all part of the strategy regarding income.

I am sure if next season they produced the 1972 strip (with no badge and advertising etc) it would vastly outsell anything that went before.
Problem is though, what would they do the following year ?

the time to do that should have been this season, for the 50th anniversary of ‘72 and also the Game on New Year’s Day.

Then they could have had a couple of seasons of regular ‘modern’ kits before going full on retro in 2025/26 for the 150th.

Totally agree. Out of all the things they could have picked to imprint on the strip and they pick the back of the stand????

Also the green in the socks don’t match any shade of green in the top????

Absolutely nobody associates the hoops with us and we’d spend all season explaining it and getting called Celtic’s B team.

Horrible idea.

Breaking us in for the inevitable hooped kit for our anniversary

Aw man, thus is geting tedious repeating this. Unless you mean the 151st anniversary, and why would Hibs celebrate that, then the 150th strip would be a white one. The first strip Hibs ever used was a white top!! I am stunned that so many Hibbies don't know that

Yip was supposed to be the hoops but our co founder Canon Hannan presented us with our first strip white with green crest harp and green trim at our inauguration dinner

Exactly. I personally don't enjoy how certain fans shy away from our history because it might make them and us feel all Celtic, just because they showcase it more. Stuff that. I for one embrace our history and all that comes with it. Absolutely no problem with Hibs embracing hooped socks. We wore hooped shirts once upon a time and the more we do things like this then hopefully the more our history and traditions are engraved into our supporters.

WE'RE the first to wear the green, and the hoops. Not them!

It's up there beside that argyled patterned thing and the all green nonsense as the worst we've had. Utterly ganting as a hibs kit.

It's not that deep really. Doubt that Joma were looking at Hibs kits in the 1800s when designing this season's socks, probably just opted for that design.

Why anyone would want green and white hoops as the Hibs TOP is beyond me. We used to wear knickerbockers and braces, should we bring that back also?

If you pull back a little bit and view it from afar, the idea of grown men wearing tshirts, shorts and knee length socks is ******* ridiculous anyway. Why would stripy socks matter?

Especially when the Hibs top is one of the beautiful and unique in the world. Ain’t nothing unique about green and white hoops. I can think of three teams that wear them just off the top of my head

I wouldn't necessarily want like for like hoops on our top but I wouldn't be against a design that had a somewhat hooped design in a smart looking way. Perhaps half hoops down each side or 3 hoops at the bottom/back of the top etc. Purple hoops on a green Hibs home kit would be beautiful
