Android media boxes. Can get faster processing and more memory than Firesticks.
Massive upgrade imo.

Phone and cancel if you can
Negotiate
Off course it helps if your in a cancellation period, but you can cancel months in advance I put 4 months notice in, got a letter offering better deals through the door.
Haggled now got sky sports all channels for a reduced £12 per month.
Don’t accept their first offer

Yep, he clearly knows how it works. If my mum didn't work for Sky, I'd have no idea they have a whole department set up to stop people cancelling and offer them deals to stay.
I doubt most people would.

Firestick or other alternate device is the answer here.
Pay over £100 a month for everything or £70 a year for everything? No brainer.

Are they legal?
Legal to own but not to stream content you should be paying for.
All my mates have them and rave about it but, as I’m not a thief, I have never bothered.
What I will say is I went round to one of their houses and he was trying to watch a man United game on it and the thing kept losing signal and the picture was all pixilated.

Pretty sure when you get down to the bare bones of it, they’re not.
However, same as back in the day you’d get 3 DVD’s for a tenner off a boy down the boozer or getting your PlayStation chipped or buying a T-shirt ‘off the back of a lorry’.

I’ve had a few of them and they’ve been crap.
Work fine for a few weeks then go to ****. Streams are often nowhere near the standard of watching it legitimately and there’s often loads of channels that simply don’t work at all. Sound and picture often out of sync. Don’t really get the hype other than they’re cheap as.

I dont have problems with my firestick, I have a very good provider and can take the stick everywhere I go.Thousands of sport channels, films, series etc. €90 a year bargain. Regular updates. Now and again a bit of buffering but reliable. Alot more reliable than Hibstv.

I tend to agree. I've found you can't rely on these services for any length of time and you have no comeback if they fail. Without being too highhanded about "theft" etc (as I have watched illegal streams myself) it also devalues the value of the SPFL Sky deal (which is low as it is). Putting yourself in their shoes why should they bother paying even what they do when their rights are being breached left right and centre?
I do find it quite strange that these IPTV services can be openly discussed on Hibs.net (when it's obvious what the intended use is) yet the minute anyone tries to give out equally "illegal" links (for 3pm games not on TV at Ibrox or Celtic Park this would be pre-Covid PPV) it used to get shut down.

Same here never had an issue. Never buffers or glitches and its all im HD too. Think it depends on how strong your wifi is in relation to it buffering or not. 10/10.

I have a fire stick and as others have said i take it on holiday to watch the football. I have a great provider that I have been with for four years with perfect streams all for £50 a year.
Skys a rip off that pumps an obscene amount of money into English football and a pittance into Scottish football in comparison.

As a complete dafty when it comes to this, if I took a firestick on holiday and apartments had a smart TV I could take the firestick on holiday and watch the football and UK TV or is that to simplistic?

Never managed to watch a thing with ipTV.
Gave up and just subscribe via Virgin now. Renew every 18 months to get the same deal.
£70pm for fibre broadband and all the sports channels in HD.

No they aren’t legal.
However providers don’t seem to be overly concerned. When they do they will start blocking this traffic. I know Virgin Media used to send “warning letters” that they would cancel your subscription if you continue however that was a few years back.

Every firestick I’ve ever tried buffers or is a few minutes behind the actual game which is crap.
Rather pay sky and BT and be able to watch what you want when you want with no problems.

Yeah, you can do that. My dad takes his firestick to Spain with him. As long as your IPTV provider doesn't block usage of their firesticks outside the UK (I've never heard of them doing this) then it'll work fine as long as your WiFi is decent wherever you're going.

I see what folk are saying about firesticks, but I have been offered one for £90 for the year, where we pay £100 to virgin every month. For savings of around £1k a year I think I could cope with some buffering.

Spot on, it’s also about finding the right provider. Anyone who has Issues with buffering might be down to poor Wi-Fi connection

Can also just be poor streams. I had two previous IPTV providers who were unreliable and uninterested when the streams were poor. Been using the same guys for years now and you're lucky if it buffers once a month.

anyone with buffering problems should buy a fire TV stick ethernet adaptor for £13, it may not cure all buffering problems but wired is ALWAYS better than wireless

Not necessarily with the Fire Stick. Yes, it'll be more stable and not prone to interference but it might actually be slower than WiFi. I think the adapter is restricted to max 100MB/s download even if your wired broadband speed is higher than that. I used the adapter and it ended up being slower than WiFi.
