I have a new niece in London to be visiting on the same weekend as the derby game and 1st weekend of the EPL. I'll be without wife and 2 kids as well, so a bounty of possibilities present themselves.
There's only so much use one can be with a 3 week old baby so the Sunday is shaping up lovely as I've got a ticket to the West Ham vs City game (never grumbling about SPL ticket prices again!) at 16h30 and the Derby is at 13h00, with 2 other PL games at 14h00.
I know there's a few Hammers sympathetic Hibbees on here so what would you advise in terms of areas/pubs to go to within striking distance (in London terms) of the London Stadium? Any chance of any of them showing the Edinburgh Derby (I suspect not, and is Quinns still in operation? Will need to pack accordingly if it is)
Any advice/tips much appreciated.:aok:

I think the Quinns guys go to The Sheephaven near Mornington Crescent Tube Station now.

You were one of my targets of this thread :greengrin Disregarding for a moment the derby, what boozers would you recommend in the London Stadium "area" where some atmosphere + alcohol absorption could take place?

There are a few boozers in Stratford High Street. The Carpenters Arms is a decent bet near the Stadium. There are bars in the Stadium if you have plenty of cash. They are useful after the game (not all are open) to avoid the ridiculous crowd management in place after games. Loads of restaurants in Westfield Shopping Centre before the match if you are after a scran.
No need to bring a dinner jacket for Quinn’s, it’s not what it was. As HH says the Hibs Boys go elsewhere. Don’t know anywhere showing the Derby though.

The Little Driver beside Bow Road Tube Station is about a 20 minute walk. Cheap and full of “characters”

Watch the Derby at the Sheephaven then head to Camden road station and take the overground to Hackney Wick where there is a pub the Lord Napier and plenty of restaurants cafe bars and street food stalls on the walk to the stadium which takes 10 minutes

I had to hand back my international membership after the ban was lifted on Jean's (!) Being acceptable as part of "casual fridays". Disgrace. :agree:

Sounds like a fine schedule of events

I went to the West Ham Chelsea game last year and it was magic, I’m sure you’ll really enjoy it.
We went to the Westfield shopping centre station as we were familiar with it having been before but there really isn’t much there apart from one small pub and a huge shopping centre.
Once we got to the ground we stumbled upon this place…..
https://www.oldstreetbrewery.com/
It’s set in a sort of industrial yard with 2 or 3 other breweries. I’m not really a real ale drinker but tried a couple and they were really nice. 5 minute walk to the stadium which was handy as well. Was pretty busy but not too bad although it was a Sunday lunch time kick off so that probably explained that.
Only other bit of advice I can think of just now is try to plan your exit, we short of got ushered back to the shopping centre and it took about the best part of an hour to walk less than a mile. If you’re in a rush to meet people after it you may need to leave a bit sharp, although it may be better if you leave going the other way.

I'll be in no rush, probably do what someone advised above and what I did when I went to a Spurs game and have a beer post match in the stadium and wait for the crowd to dissipate
