Kenneh has zero first team seasons under his belt.

Regardless of his quality it is a big ask to rely on him week after week.

Kenneh may be an unknown quantity but I don’t think it should be that big an ask.

He looks big enough to handle himself and you’d expect a club like Leeds to have developed him to an extent that he’s capable of playing a lot of games in a season.

I think he needs an opportunity and games and the only way to find out is by playing him.

Certainly the idea of him playing a lot and finding his way appeals more to me than lots more Joe Newell in that position - who has plenty of games under his belt.

Yeh he has.....but so did the guy that played up front for Hearts last year.....Simms i think his name. It can be done.

My point kinda waa that Kennah has a pretty good reputation and appeared that Leeds were quite keen to keep him. Imo you dont then go and buy someone else to take that position.....now it may not work, we dont know but im not sure we go immediately look to replace him before the season starts.

I don't know what Hibs were thinking appointing a manager like Lee Johnson, when there are so many top candidates available right here on this thread..........

To be fair, the club hired Maloney and he proved he knew a lot less than the people on here when it came to picking midfielders so let’s wait and see if Johnson is any better.

Maloney was awful but there were limited choices available, we basically played what we had all season due to injuries and suspensions.

An utterly ****ing embarrassment of a thread, Jesus two ****ing games in and half the new players not yet available, I struggle to understand what motivates the OP to spout this *****

You start the thread calling him a dud.

Now it's "wait and see".

Looking like another dud manager if he is going to keep playing Newall and Campbell. The fact that he hasn’t brought in a proven midfielder tells me he is going to fail badly, just like Maloney did.

It was obvious during the January transfer window we were awful in midfield. Maloney should have fixed it then. When he didn’t, he was done. On the 1st Feb I was convinced he would fail. If Johnson makes the same mistake then the same fate awaits him. He still has time as the window is still open. And he might get lucky (very very lucky) and Magennis gets fit and stays fit but if I was him, I would not be risking my job on Magennis getting fit.

Yes?

What’s the word after the ones you have highlighted?[emoji23]

Yes?

There’s an if after the bit you’ve highlighted, so no, the poster hasn’t. Just like they haven’t called for Johnson to be sacked as others have quite incredibly interpreted the post.

What follows is also just as negative "The fact that he hasn’t brought in a proven midfielder tells me he is going to fail badly, just like Maloney did."

Amazing, and really sounds like someone willing to "wait and see".

Wait and see is all we have. He’ll either do it or not. I think if he doesn’t then he’ll fail. Hopefully he does and goes onto succeed.

If he doesn’t do well then he won’t have done well, earth shattering stuff.

That’s not what I’m saying though. I’m saying if he doesn’t change that midfield he will fail.

Sorry, my mistake, perhaps your post should have been interpreted as incredibly supportive.

Aye, maybe in an alternate universe.

Desperate for him to fail is perhaps closer to the mark.

No, just desperate for him to fix our midfield.

LJ in his Premier Cup Presser absolutely nailed where we are as a club. The deals so far have been secured on a shoe string but every player so far looks an improvement. With the Doig money in the bank perhaps a CM or CB of immediate value is attainable?
Every time LJ speaks he makes total sense to me and I do believe we are on the right track and if the players don’t meet his standards the out the picture they go.

I still have massive reservations about the club in general and am not as excited about the season as most others seem to be but hopefully we can win our next two games and qualify for the last 16.

Think everyone will have concerns especially after Falkirk but no way massive concerns. Personally generally happy with how we are shaping up this season however proof is in the pudding of course

Agree needs the chance to build into this team the very minimum he offers is agresssion and physicality which we were screaming out for Wednesday in the first half.

There were also choices made in the Jan window letting Hallberg Gogic and Tait leave who could have provided central midfield cover.

Tait was a strange one.

Highly rated base on his performances at Raith, yet Maloney decided he wasn't part of our plans without seeing him play so we then sent him on loan to a team that wasn't suited to how he plays.

I'd like to see him given a chance as part of the first team squad between now and Christmas. There's a vacancy until Magennis is fit so Tait can step in rather than signing a player on a longer term contract who is only needed as cover for six months. The only player we should sign for midfield is someone with the quality to be an instant starter as we already have too many players who can rotate in without making any difference to the player replaced.

Agree I would keep Tait and then if he isn't playing loan him out in January
