Looked sharp, quick feet and worked his socks off. Could be a big player for us this season.

Very exciting signing! Showed some real glimpses today of what's to come. Our first home game against the Jumbos can't come quick enough, he'll torment them!

He’s a top player. I think he will thrive off the abuse by opposition supporters too.

The thing I loved most about his performance today was him tracking back about 80 yards to make a last ditch tackle when Clyde broke from our corner.
He's a moaning faced barsteward who gets frustrated with himself and others when it isn't working. I love that.

Was just about to say this. Was just saying to my Dad I wonder if he still has any legs, next he is back covering Lewis in our own box. Brilliant

Liam Miller.
With all due respect to Liam Miller, he really wasn't that great for us IMO. Probably due to being in a dreadful side though. Others mentioned were much better.

IMO the nutmeg was miraculous - the gap was there for what seemed to be a microsecond and he managed to ping the ball through it. Highlight of the game for me.:agree:

He’s still deceptively quick too. Sunderland ST holder friend says he’s one of his all time favourite Sunderland players for entertainment but also very injury prone. Also thinks LJ didn’t get a fair crack of the whip at the end of his tenure and will do well with us.

Wasn't at the game today due to work unfortunately but hearing a lot of positive things.
Could be a really important player for us this season. Seems to still have a lot of skill and his experience could be a real asset especially with quite a lot of youngsters coming up.

Pat McGinlay, could read a game so well, knew when not to go too far forward, then would spot one player out of positition drive forward and either score or be a part of a goal he was outstanding, if he missed he would be back in midfield cutting the passing lanes right away, was brilliant in the tackle too. him and Mcginn together would be some midfield with Sauzee behind them.
Allan even at such a young age seemed so mature on the pitch he could read the game so well, spot pockets of space and play through balls that left defences confused ans split them open, sometimes his fellow players weren't upto it either but it did work plenty of times and when it did was magical, inspiration for kids with diabetes too, that illness he had clearly took a big toll on him but will always be one of my facvourite watching with the ball at his feet, Not sure if it was intentional or luck but him and McGeouch were tailor made for each other in mifield, the likes of Fyvie etc on the bench would have been one of the first names on the sheet every single week last season (unrelated but I looked up Fraser Fyvie with mentioning them and thought how has he ended up that low down at Cove, they're in the ****ing Championship now these days, was shocked)
Michael O'neil, John Collins although quite young looked like he had been playing top level football for years, I was only 6 when he left but my uncle gave me all his old arsenal and Hibs VHS when he got dvd player lol.
Latapy for player who had me on the edge of the seat though, Boyle, Sproule, Kevin Harper, Zemmama and Benji for players that had you on the edge of your seat, the latter two being less consistent but amazing on their day, bit more consistency and Benji woulda been away to Real years ago. But Latapy takes the cake. My favourite Hibs player I've seen in the flesh regularly in my life, Sauzee too but just some of the stuff Latapy could do with a football was immense, I can't believe we got him, Sauzee either, but no chance we could have got him at the age we got Latapy, maybe his like for his rum and fags helped us with that !!
That whole squad tbh was full of good to exceptional players for out leve, I was so excited about Zitelli and he was good and linked up well but honestly when we signed him I thought he was gonna be banging in 25 a season in the league.

The amount of times we saw him wriggle out of a space he really shouldn’t have with an amazing bit of skill was enough for me. He was a wonderful player to watch. Opinions eh? :greengrin

I agree i remember thinking well done that man for getting back and making that tackle and then shortly after completing the thought with bloody hell its McGeady 😀

McGeady is going to set the league alight this season.
Can see this being a great move for both parties and the perfect platform for him to play his last few seasons.

It’s early days yet but between the friendlies in Portugal and his half hour or so today, I’m really impressed with him.
His ability would never be in question but he looks to be in fantastic shape.
I was really impressed by that time he got back in behind Lewis to mop up their counter attack. Cracking display of professionalism and fitness.
He looks like he’ll bring a few of the things we were lacking last season.

Jesus. Wild. One of the better players we’ve had at ER in my 30 years as a ST holder. Classy player, classy individual. RIP.

Loads of managerial experts on here didn't want him.
If we only get one season of him here it will be a great impact.

The first 6 months of the 09/10 season, when Miller was at his best, the team was playing some absolutely brilliant football. Miller supplying Stokes, Riordan, Benji and Nish was anything but dreadful.

You think? Fair enough. I've seen 10 better centre mids in the last 20 years quite easily. He had a great 6 months but was poor after that. We hardly won a game for 18 months.
Horrible that he was taken so young.

Agree thought on his day he was an exceptional player. He was quite inconsistent though. Can remember one game against Motherwell where he ran the show and was brilliant.

Him and Louie laughing about it after the track back was another highlight for me!

His ability and experience is exactly what we need. His quick feet will get fouls around and in the box and he will create and score also a big personality and someone who will turn up imo in big games.
