Just watched this on the club YouTube channel. It's pretty cool IMO.

'I want a shot Joe!' 😂

Love the leadership from Ryan here, telling Melkersen to get on with it and not tut at him lol

Love that kind of content. Brilliant for kids to watch as well listen to the talking that needs to be done on the pitch.

Obviously it's an edited version but I think it gives a bit of insight as to his importance as an organisational figure in the team. I'd like to see us make a real statement of intent by giving Porto an extension on his contract. I still think he's got the makings of a potential Scotland captain if he concentrates on the football and the Scottish sporting media give him an even break.

Ha just posted about it in another thread.

Thought it was really good.

Hibs producing some very good content lately.

You can see why we miss Porto when he's not in the team. More excellent content from Hibs too. Really impressing me just now.

Agreed - feel good factor eminating from the club again. Engagement with fans ramping up. The little bits from the camp on twitter and youtube. Feeling motivated again. Well done Hibs and comms team, keep it up.

From someone that didn't want Johnson got to say he's putting himself across brilliantly. Some humble pie for me.

Hopefully now translates into strong start to the season

That was a good watch and a great idea for a bit of fan content.

Best thing about that is him telling midfielders to get away from him. Did my head in last season how deep the were constantly.

Amazing how there was no swearing.

Born leader. We should break the bank to build the team around him and make him captain for the next 10 years.

Get him wired up for the The Rangers game now that would be worth watching😁

I assumed this had been for our (fans) entertainment but if you watch the latest Inside Training video it’s the manager wanting to look at Ryan’s communication during the game. Eyeing up a future captain?

Could be. Although maybe he doesn’t think this communication is good enough and wants a closer look.

From what I saw there was nothing in there to show anything either way.

Agree with this. He certainly talked a lot but nothing in the content really stood out either that shows he's a top leader/ communicator ( which he may be...)

disagree, liked the fact he was telling the younger player(think it was Brydon) where he should be and equally encouraged him to tell him back where he should be

Yep, Everything about it shows he’s a good leader ..and he has been since he broke in to the team …

I thought RP was excellent.

Pretty much always positive: at one point he says To Brydon “I’m just being picky” which I think was a big complement.

Really instructive.

I'm basing that on playing with some really good semi pro players who I felt were excellent communicators and were more instructional than I heard from RP there. He is still young and I'm sure in a few years time he will be an even better leader.:aok:

I’m really surprised folk think this was informative. He just shouted names a lot - I know it’s just a pre season game so not writing him off but really surprised folk think he’s a leader from that short recording.

Didn’t see anything you wouldn’t see watching a boys under 16 game.

:agree: It would be interesting to hear Hanlon or McGregor mic'd up for comparison. Hanlon has often been ( unfairly IMO) criticised as not being a great leader - but I reckon he will be an excellent talker.

I've played with lots of good players too and lots of them liked to bark out orders but wouldn't accept any advice back, especially from someone younger than them as they knew it all

It's refreshing to see a young but albeit experienced player try and help someone and also look for their input too
