View Full Version : Star of the season

Who do we think will be the star of this coming season?

I’m going to presume we are about to have a vastly improved campaign to the last one so who do you reckon will be the main man?

Marshall as the new leader between the sticks? (My pick)

A stand out season from one of the young Norwegians?

Tavares or Bojang to turn out to be real finds?

Someone else - either already here or yet to he signed?

Jair to light up the SPL, until he’s out injured having been blootered up and down the park most weeks 😬

I can tell (sincerity comes shining through), probably one for the pet peeves thread.

After reading the Kyle Magennis thread I'll tempt fate and say Kyle Magennis.

This is his year.

I trust this post will age well.

Almost forgot about Magennis when starting the thread. If he stays fit, then I think you could be right.

For consistency I think we'll see kenneh excel. For excitement I'm hoping tavares or melkerson. Got a feeling this will be an exciting season!

David Marshall.
Hoping he has a really quiet season with barely a ball in his box to worry about. A hope not an expectation sadly.....do think Marshall will prove to be a cracking signing though who will be worth 10 points +

I reckon miller is going to be the one who really impresses this year. Just looks like he has a bit of drive about him.

I also think newell will win some fans over this year back playing in front of a back 4 and with some decent movement ahead of him (assuming magennis is back and we sign some decent wingers).

Someone yet to be signed .

This!

As we know from the Book of Hibernian Myths, all new players, as yet unseen, are always better than ‘the current dross’.

The evidence of the past decade of course demonstrates that very few window signings make much difference to our fortunes. But hey, let’s not let a touch of reality spoil our dreams.

In a season, sometimes the transfer window is the only period of hope that we fans get.

Wouldn’t shock me. I think he looked more like a player in a completely unsuitable system than a bad footballer.

I find the the Bojang signing really interesting and wouldn’t be at all surprised if he turns out to be a real find.

That said, I won’t be massively surprised if it doesn’t work out, but I’m excited to see what he has to offer.

If that "unsuitable system" is being part of a football team then perhaps you could be right.

Melkerson with honourable mention for Rocky. I'm well aware he didn't dazzle last season but I genuinely believe he'll look like a different player this season with some good coaching and being asked to keep things simple.

Stevenson as usual.

We will have had another poor season if Lewis is the star.
Don't get me wrong he was excellent last season but don't think we want our left back to be the stand out player.
