Out tomorrow and I can't wait.
Just been reading Hibs have requested an away fixture to ensure they have completed their upgrade on Hospitality.

It's quite a rarity for us to start away from home in recent years.
This season was the 1st since 16/17 and it's only happened 4 times in the last 11 seasons.
Somewhere we can take big numbers to would be good. Dundee Utd or Motherwell would seem the obvious for that. Livingston another one but O wouldn't fancy starting the season on that pitch.
Annoying as was hoping to bring my nephew to his first game at ER for league opener.
Not sure an away game would be ideal as he's only six.

Ideally I think we'd have wanted the derby a bit later but I suppose it's a good chance to get off to a flyer, if we can win it.
Good chance to take a great away support to McDiarmid also but quite a tough first month for Lee Johnson.

A derby second game of the season!
Wow.
Dunno if that’s good or bad but all depends if we win or not I suppose [emoji1787]

Can see the Hearts and Rangers games being moved for TV in August so doubt they'll be Saturday 3pm kick offs which is annoying.

Toughest start we've had in a while. Were probably due one but we'll need to be in good form come the St. Johnstone game.
Bring it on.

I hear we're "due a win" v Hearts or whatever so get ready for the party!
Seriously though, that opening month is brutal. Baptism of fire for Johnson.

A couple of tasty games at home in August. A good pre season and league cup hopefully see good crowds.

We apparently asked for our first game to be away from home because the new corporate facilities wouldn't be ready for the first game of the season.

Tough start by any measure.
Chance to put down a marker if we can pick up a few points though.

First game where VAR is in play, we just happen to be at Ibrox.
That’ll go well for us, I’m sure.

The Rangers game falls in between the 1st and 2nd legs of their Champions League or Europa League play off game. It will be an ideal time to play them as the European tie will be must win for them so unlikely they’ll go full strength against us. If they are still in the Champions League the game is likely to remain on the Saturday.

Would be great to get an early derby win. It would get fans right behind Johnson and put a bit pressure on across the other side. Probably a draw then:wink:

Think we have a decent recent history of managers not losing their first derby - was Stubbs the last one?

The players, manager and fans should be right up for the first two home games. Should be two sellouts in a row particularly if we beat Hearts. These are the games you live for.

So what we need to do is appoint a new manager ahead of every derby and we'll be undefeated in over half of our matches against them?
