Tin hat on - I STILL don’t think January was that bad.
Problem was last summer. 1 out of 10 last summer, for the game JDH scored a couple in. Last summer was so abysmal it meant we had too much to do in January. With the right players around them and the right tactics, I could still see almost all of the January arrivals proving to be useful, Rocky the poorest of them.
Chuck in a few injuries and you end up with the side that battles it out with Dundee to be the worst in the league.

Shocking window in my opinion. Even if the likes of Henderson, Melkerson and Jasper turn out ok(can't see it myself) it still wasn't what we needed. We were crying out for a box to box midfielder and a between the sticks striker and even stop gap signings would have been better than what we brought in. It is a dangerous game always looking to the future while paying no attention to the present. I think my biggest worry is I have no faith in the systems that support a manager and whoever we bring in may be fighting with a hand tied behind their back from the get go.

I think that at the time we were expecting Nisbet, Doidge and Magennis to play more of a part than they have, so the arrivals were to complement them.
Not necessarily disagreeing with you btw but missing these players has made the lack of the ones you mention be felt more acutely.

He should do the decent thing and announce every single player is free to go
Either free or mutually terminated
That squad - imposters

A terrible window done on the cheap other than Melkersen imo.
We threw Maloney under the bus by selling Boyle and bringing in what we did. This squad is potentially the worst I’ve seen in the 20 odd years I can remember watching Hibs.

IMO after watching Hibs for over 60 years this is the worst squad I can remember clear the lot out every single one we are a laughing stock of a club from top to bottom and that includes the deluded owner Ron Gordon/son. I keep asking myself why Farmer sold the club to this imposter big mistake Tom as it has come back to bite us big time

We were bad well before January. The only difference is we had Boyle.

Box to box midfielders don’t really exist anymore.

I think the recruitment team should put away their big database box of tricks for a week or so and look to "unrecruit" players, by way of circulating clubs of a list (hopefully a long one) of current Hibs players availability.
I would then pare the recruitment committee number down to two, that being the manager and his assistant, as to the players he wants IN the door. You never know, it might work.

If you have, or know someone with the cash to buy out Ron Gordon then great, otherwise I think you're going to be sorely disappointed. How you think the fans can clear out Ron Gordon I don't know.
Regardless of how longs we've supported Hibs for it's Ron's club right now whether we like it or not.

Too old school for all the academics that now want to be involved in football.

Did you not see much of us under Butcher’s reign then? There’s certainly worrying echoes of it now but would any of us really hark back for halcyon days of old when we had Rowan Vine up too…?

I did and I honestly think that side would stand a good chance of beating this one.

My comment was tongue in cheek, but being “old school” myself, I think a lot of society/public life is all about style and spin over substance now…as far as Hibs go there seems to be an awfully lot of hangers on around the club, and the same unfortunately could be said for the team.

The squad today is far better than it was under some of Fenlon and Butcher. There is no doubt the managerial turmoil has not helped and as soon as we finished in the bottom six the players shut off. Its maybe understandable even if not right as some will know they aren't going to be here next season and they had an interim manager who was never going to get the job.
We did end up in a final of a cup and a semi-final of the other cup despite it being a very poor season, compounded by not only managerial churn but also a lot of long term injuries.
We need someone in who will stabilise, have more emphasise on attacking football rather than always always possession (cause it doesn't work and is boring) sign 5 good players (4 if we assume that Marshall is onboard) and I fully expect that we would be back to challenging for top 4 next season.

Aside from being a daft idea that’s not even legally possible or at least it’s extremely unlikely.

Problem was that other more experienced players were needed as well . Then losing Boyle on last day of window then serious injuries to key players and new ones ( Clarke , Mitchell )
