I went to the 1st one but haven't bothered since.

Looks like it might be worthwhile this year with some pretty major changes being proposed. With the right strategy fully decoupling from the club could be a smart move.

It should never have been coupled with the club in the first place. For one it resulted in many fans not participating as they had a mistrust of Farmer/Petrie being involved. It was always going to be a difficult sell to people as a vehicle for change at the club when it was created by the club and the CEO of the club was on it’s board.

Unfortunately it’s just one of the many missteps in it’s creation that have resulted in it lagging well behind FOH in its engagement with fans and contributions to the club.

As one who paid in for around 3 years or so, and stopped about a year ago, when our owner couldn’t even acknowledge its existence. I welcome the future if HSL
Will start again if I find the new HSL does thinks differently
Looking forward to an existing new beginning

I broadly agree.

I still think STFs preferred exit strategy was for the originally targeted shareholding for HSL (was it 51%?) to end up in their hands. Obviously he wanted to retain an element of control over that whilst he remained involved and, for various reasons, it never really took off. You then had a couple of share issues to sell shares direct so a pile of shares ended up in an array of hands and finally he sold his majority shareholding privately.

It's important that people remember that HSL is the biggest minority shareholder in the club. At some point, be that in 6 months, 6 years or 6 decades, that could be important. It's in everyone's interests if those of us who are members hold the current board of HSL to account and make sure the road they go down is the right one for us as a fanbase and as a club.

It’s interesting that HS want to disentangle from the club. I hope we stop handing over our funds to the club without anything in return. Best to keep building up the funds ourselves as that rainy day could soon be upon us with the Gordons in charge

Can we just provide a gentle reminder to all Members that our AGM is this coming Tuesday at Sunnyside.

This is a very important point for our Organisation and we must all decide what we want our Shareholder Group to be. We are the second largest shareholder in the Club and it’s now for Members to decide.

I think we need to establish what the broad membership thinks; there seems to be a considerable amount of members who want to chuck money at hibs for nothing in return. Don’t know why they don’t just hand cash in a brown envelope to the front desk.

I understand it during the pandemic but there seems to be little recognition from the current owners of the importance or the fans and the fact that the owners are just temporary stewards of the club.

I used to donate when shares were bing acquired as community owned clubs are the way forward but stopped them when that stopped as there are more deserving charities.

It would be good to see HS push to make the club more accountable to the fans and get one of the HS Directors on the board of the club, particularly given the recent direction of the club.

HS has the potential to be a really powerful voice and there must be a huge number of ways in doing that.

Any directors who are also Hibernian Supporters members are welcome to attend, other than that we don’t expect any club directors to be in attendance.

The meeting has been discussed with the club but given the agenda items, namely a vote to remove the need to have club appointed directors on the HSL board, we’re not sure it would be entirely appropriate.

We plan to meet with the club following Tuesday’s AGM.

Thank you for your support in the past. Your points are well made and seem to be shared by many and that is why this AGM is so important. As well as your vocal support, we need your financial support. Having worked so hard to secure a 15.5% stake in the Club we need to ensure we are financially strong enough to sustain this shareholding should we be called upon.

Looking forward to this. Should be an interesting discussion and it's an important one to be having. Hopefully the turnout reflects that so as many voices as possible can be heard.

What does that actually mean? A 15% stake? Genuine q. Is it ownership of stocks or something else?

HSL own 15% of the available shares in the club. They are the largest minority shareholder.

Hi Daniel
I can’t attend but agree with disentangling HSL from the club. I always thought HSL should be independent. I’d happily give you my proxy vote if that’s possible

Ideas for getting something for HSL funds if Ron refuses us shares
1) Say we give club 250k next season , how about negotiating with Ron for say 1000 discounted season tickets. HSL distribute them to unemployed, folks on benefits, Dnipro kids. We won’t sell more than 12k next season. Folks getting tickets could be required to Join HSL and pay say £5 a month nominal sum.
2) HSL gets some hospitality benefits, fancy seats , boxes every week
3) HSL games with promotions by us, stalls etc, free tickets to schools etc

Daniel, I have been paying into this for 4 or 5 years but no email sent out to me, I change my email with HSL some time ago.
so I have to wonder why it was/is not automatically added to the email list?

Just a wee reminder about the AGM tomorrow evening at 7pm at Sunnyside.

This meeting will decide what HSL will look like in the future so we hope as many members as possible will turn up to share their views.
