Tickets arrived today, itinerary states it a black-tie evening!
Hopefully start suit, shirt and tie will suffice?
Who's all going guys.

The only player who hasnt put a foot wrong all season despite being played all over the place and being in and out the team has been Lewis Stevenson. Doig , porteous and cadden have also been good with patchy spells

I voted Cadden POTY and Porteous YPOTY.

Can the impressionist impersonate a centre forward?

He's here!

Is this event really worth staging? I can't think of anyone who especially merits the award.

Pathetic holding it

Stevenson should get player of the year.

Others have been so inconsistent and Porto has missed several games due to red cards.

I'd give it to Kyle Magennis and watch the rest of them squirm in realisation at how unacceptable this season has been.

Feedback from Kieran Power, is that a suit and tie is ok!
Crazy decision to make it a black tie event imho.

None of these imposters deserve any player of the year awards to be honest. Get it cancelled and the fans refunded.

Martin Boyle should get the award, that would send a pretty big message.

Yup. Embarrassment having an awards ceremony for these bunch of wasters. They should give the award to the fans for having to put up with it.

Unfair on Chris Cadden. He gives his absolute all every week and is certainly not an imposter. With a decent penalty box striker he would rack up plenty assists.

Yeah ok- it's all about opinions but he's been highly successful which would indicate he's generally not considered "awful".

His recognition of mannerisms and his subsequent exaggeration of them is absolutely superb (IMHO of course).

Just get it cancelled ffs, this team has been a disgrace and most won;t even be here next season. we should only be doing this type of event in the case where there is a grup of guys is worthy of being nominated. minus Cadden the rest are a disgrace to the club

Eh, who says the players want it? I'd wager they'd much rather be at home with their families. Personally I'd rather drag my nuts over broken glass than attend a works award night.

It isn’t a players decision. Sure they are delighted at having to spend the evening in a room full of disgruntled fans having finished somewhere between 8th and 10th in the league.

In an ideal world, yes. But if the behaviour of some at the recent Sauzee night is anything to go by then the POTY awards could be a disaster.

The club organises it to reward the players sponsors throughout the year. Its hardly as if the players have said "give me an award ceremony or I'm leaving".

I've been to a couple of these.

The most recent was the year we finished 4th under Lennon. previous to that it was when we finished 10th under Calderwood. The former was undoubtedly better because there was far more of a connection with that team and the usual jokes and whatever get a far better reaction when that's the case. Like a lot of these things it's a mixed crowd. A majority who can behave like decent people and a few who have zero in the way of manners or social awareness. I'd even argue the more recent event was worse for that with Neil Lennon having to forcefully tell a a guy who was tugging at his arm when he was talking to someone else to leave him alone and another guy demanding David Gray shake his hand whilst Gray was having a slash. Classy.

I don't really see any reason for Hibs to cancel it. The majority who have tickets will still have a good time, a lot of the tables are taken up by sponsors and the like anyway.

I’m going along to this on Sunday night, I went back in 2018 and it was a great night albeit that was a team that had SJM, Dylan and many more good players. The feel good factor was still around following 2016 too.

To say this event has a different feeling would be an understatement :greengrin

In anycase, for those going, what are you wearing?

My mate is assuring me he is going full black tie, see James Bond. I was thinking dress trousers, shirt and tie/suit jacket.

Anyone else going for this approach or would I be the only one in this attire? Haha.

Cheers

Says everything about our season when the POTY deserves to be Boyle...don't think any player could complain about being awarded sweet FA at the awards, been a shocking season.

Hope everyone that goes has a great night all the same!
