Nice to see a non Celtic connection say it as it is about Maloney.

Actually liked Marv's comments. Have always thought of him as a good pundit , straightforward and honest without feeling the need to make sensational comments or without being cruel.
Would like to see more of him on tv.

wait a minute, he just took over at Besiktas last month and marvin thinks he would come to us two months later ?
Rumour going round Lincoln fans at their Monday match was that Appleton was being lined up again for the Hibs job. Bit strange given Maloney wasn't sacked until Tuesday...

18th in League One, doesn’t sound too exciting.

Yip, my Lincoln fan colleague says we can have him. Not pushing them on as they'd hoped

Lincoln currently 18th in League One, after a 5th place finish last year. Be surprised if he's in our thoughts this time.

Somehow don’t think we’ll get the Beskitas manager who has only been there a handful of games.
The rest of Marv’s comments are spot on and I think he’ll make a good manager one day, he seems to get the best of both worlds re a style of play and wins.
Re Appleton he was our number 1 choice when we got Hecky but he rejected us due to only 3 months pay when you get sacked. I’d be stunned if we were interested again.

Appleton's main thought seemed to be how much of a pay off he was going to get if we sacked him. Not for me.

In fairness, given Hibs recent record of sacking managers, I wouldn't blame him too much for that.

Is that more in hope than expectation? :greengrin
Not exactly been a resounding success anywhere else since he turned us down saying our ambition didn't match his.

Did he not get them promoted?
Sure he was doing a really good job there (or maybe it was a previous club) at one point.

:agree:
Let’s give him a massive swerve this time around.

He is quite often on Superscoreboard and was on last night.

I think Marv is suggesting he's the type of manager we should be aiming for.

I'd love to get Marv on the Hibs coaching team.

But he doesn’t tick the boxes yet, needs to get a managerial job at a lower level 1st

Wasn't talking about Marv, it was the guy at Besiskas.

It’s the silly season right enough😀

Obviously that guy won't be coming here but I get what he means, we have to start looking at a higher calibre candidate, if that means paying a bit extra so be it, fed up of run of the mill average managers.

Ismael is a 100% pure hoofball merchant anyway. Real hammer thrower stuff. Had remarkable success playing that way with Barnsley last year but WBA fans weren't having him from quite early on this season.

I'll get ripped for this, about to start watching Killie Arbroath, just thought if Killie don't come up would take McInnes & Lafferty. Points to prove. Forget any baggage. Mcinnes gets older pros and younger players performing, that lanky arse bangs in the goals - would hold the fort up front and bring on our younger forwards.

If he can’t get Killie promoted he’s not done the things you’ve just said very well.

You’d take McInnes if he fails in the league below?

Saw AFC Wimbledon against Lincoln a few weeks back.
Lincoln won 0-2 but they were poor. Not a good football team to watch.

To be fair, given the way we go through managers, I think that would be my first question too!

Would 100% take Lafferty. Great player.
