If it makes them feel better it’s fine. Probably wakes grumpy people up.

A much better way to pay respects than the majority not knowing why or who they are clapping for.

Good idea. Much better that random clapping during the season that nobody knows what for unless they read Hibs.net or have Facebook.

Great idea is there going to be a silence before the game to reflect this. Can remember it being done by an English team on tv maybe Sunderland at their last home game and was very moving as they showed the names and some photos during the silence.

Seen it done at Villa a few years back and it really meant something and was well done.

Don't want to upset anyone's who's organised a minutes applause or anything but I'd really like to see this trend stopping- this is definitely the way to pay tribute properly.

Thanks for posting this up.

The Club is often contacted by supporters who have lost loved ones, seeking some kind of way to remember them, and a match dedicated to absent friends and family gives us a real and appropriate way to do that.

To submit a tribute, please send your message to [email protected] along with a photograph, if you wish to do so.

If you know anyone that this will be appropriate for, do pass on the initiative details. I’m happy to help - [email protected]

This is an opportunity where we can all come together, supporters, players and staff, to pause and take time to remember Hibernian people no longer here and who will be missed.

Their memory will march on.

Tend to think people shouting abuse at our own players is a lot worse than people clapping.
