Games against the jumbos generally fill me with dread as I cannot handle losing to them! However, the last two games have not provided one instance of this dread, despair or caring about the ribbing I'll get from my jumbo mates - it's a new nothing! I really think I'm falling out of love with Hibs although my three boys can now carry the torch. Does anyone else feel like this?
It started with Hecky (gave up my ST), JR bored me to death and SM, gutless and spineless aside from yesterday by all accounts. I was going to buy three ST tix this year for me and two of my boys but, I cannot stand the product that has been on offer for the last few years. I do want SM to succeed but meh! I would like to see NL take over for the rest of the season to instil some sort of metal into our soft as sh!7 team.
Where do we go from here because I'm certain that (I'm 55) I'm not the only Hibee here like this. Thoughts?!

I'm pretty much the same age and can absolutely get where you are coming from. Saying that I bought STs for me and my daughter on the day they came out and I'd be tempted to hand them back if NL returned. Heck was the start of our problems. He was sacked too early imo and you can see what a good manager he is with how he has done since, Ross was sacked too early and I think SM will share the same fate. The people in charge of hiring and firing are the biggest problem at the club.
I think its more a case of falling out of love with the Edinburgh derby.
You could tell alot feel the same by the numbers.
We filled the end against Aberdeen for the semi a few years ago and they had only several thousand for the semi against Celtic a while back.
IWe’re up against it at hampden against them because of their recent record against them at the ground.
All really stems from them being propped up by Romanovs cash.
Cheating pays.

A derby defeat used to bug me until the next derby. Lasts a couple of days now. Probably not as invested as I once was. Probably with everything that's gone on in the world over the last few years.

I've supported Hibs for 51 years, yes a long time, fortunate to see the Tornadoes in their prime, but following them years of mediocrity and crowds of 8000 if you were lucky, but I kept going,as did many others. Then a bright spell, Alex Mcleish and the team he put together, great football but nearly killed the club because of the cost of attracting those players, after Alex" I'll be here as long as you want me:left, mediocrity again, a uplift during John Collins initial spell and good again under Mowbray. After that cup win 2016 followed by more mediocrity. I think I've seen Hibs lose in various Cup games to Airdrie, Raith Rovers, East Fife, Rangers twice, 2nd time to an Ally Macoist over head kick on his return from a leg break. Probably what I'm trying to say is the days of Hibs playing and, beating the likes of Leeds, Liverpool, Napoli etc are long gone, but hopefully soon along will come one of those peaks, Turnbull Tornadoes, Mcleish, Mowbray and Stubbs etc to cheer us all up once again.

I’m slightly older than you so was surprised to read your age. If you were in your 30s I could just about begin to understand some of your feelings. I’m pleased to say I have no good hertz mates - maybe a few acquaintances. I find them to be cut from a different cloth. I will never fear them or shy away from what may or may not happen against them. Some of the stuff posted on here before the semi was an absolute disgrace coming from folk who claim to be Hibs fans. Not for me. I’m a Hibby and will take the (mostly) rough with the smooth. Now is the time to stand up and be counted.

How is when the club need you to renew, much as we’re not enjoying it just now
They’ll need our renewal monies to improve the team
Remember it’s our club, present owner, CEO and Manager are just passing through!

Feel the same. Been a loyal Hibs fan and ST holder for decades and never thought I'd see a day when I could walk away from the club - but that's close to changing. Two events changed my relationship with Hibs - the 2016 Cup Win and the St Johnstone Cup capitulation. First was the end of a life long pilgrimage and by far my happiest day as a Hibby. The latter was one of the most pathetic performances I've seen by any team in a Cup Final.
As detached from the club as I've ever been at the moment and have little faith that this Owner and management team will do much to change that.

We need some perspective here. There have been far, far worse times supporting hibs - and that’s just in the last 15 years.
Things will get better.

You're right Billy, and that's the reason I will renew this year and have renewed in most of my previous 43 years as an ST holder. I don't want to harm the club financially by not renewing, rather than being excited or have high expectations about the quality of football on show, making me want to renew.
I really do get what the OP says. I didn't want to go to Hampden on Saturday. I hate the place mainly because we have enjoyed very few successes there over the years. I also hate the way that Hearts always seem to be more up for derbies than Hibs, alltough gladly, that wasn't the case on Saturday for a change. Like many other Hibs supporters, I went to the game, because I didn't want to not support the team in such a big game.
The point is, I'm not sure how long Ron Gordon will be able to rely on the blind faith of Hibs supporters. The lack of quality in the Hibs squad right now is worrying. Recruitment has been shambolic for a while and East Mains is not delivering a production line of young talent coming through to the first team.
If Ron wants to grow the club and bring in new season ticket holders, he needs to address this failure pronto.

How about “On The Turning Away”?
“Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
No more turning away?”
More applicable to Ukraine atm.
