He was tremendous today, one of few who would die for the cause. Love seeing him just flying into challenges, getting stuck in.

I sometimes wonder how many years we have been robbed of with him playing LB instead of CM. Superb today and a true club legend.

This, he could have been a revelation playing in midfield years ago never mind being a revelation for the second time today.

Apart from vs Arbroath did he ever start as CM?

Agree with that. No idea why he was subbed.

There is something far wrong at the club when we are actually praising one of our players who is limited in ability and is in the twilight of their career after losing a derby for the 2nd consecutive week.

or, just, you know...credit where credit is due? not saying we're not up a gumtree, but no point in holding back worthy praise of a club legend.

That's exactly how I see things and shows how far we have declined as a club even since our cup win in 2016.
People are comparing him favourably with the Famous Five and Pat Stanton which is bonkers.
Lewis is an average player and has played 500 games for the club. Why has nobody come in for him in the transfer market?
I am however first to admit he was outstanding yesterday and did us proud. He didn't deserve to be on the losing side.
I'm glad I'm not alone with this honest opinion on a great guy.

**** right off praising that post …Lewis could have moved a number of times - it’s well documented . He almost moved to Rangers at one point ..you cant put in performances like yesterday and not be a good player ..

He won twice as many major trophies as pat Stanton, so he compares pretty favourably .

Bizarre to hold his loyalty against him. He is simply meant to be here. He was absolutely ****ing vital to our cup winning side and the squad all knew it.

Limited ability? Not noticed his first touch then, outstanding. He has been a candidate for player of the season for much of the past decade. His performance yesterday is no surprise, he rarely lets us down

If you give your employer anything close to what Lewis has given his consistently over the years they will be highly pleased. Have you? Nothing wrong with praising him.

I don’t know why you’re bothering to respond. He’s clearly on the windup and has been for a while.

Club legend.

Best way I can find to express my opinion on this topic is we've still not managed to find a player as consistent as Stevenson, in the midfield and at LB. Doig has talent and JDH and Newell have some ability but Stevenson has grit, determination and game intelligence above each of them.

We needed a functioning B squad years ago and deputes for McGregor, Stevenson, Gray etc. coming through.

Hope he becomes an academy coach when he hangs his boots up.

Always seen him as more of a midfielder tbh, who the **** decided he was a left back?! Fabulous player and a fabulous professional, utmost respect for the guy.

Wonder if it would have made the difference for making the top six if he wasn't left out for so long in place of Campbell. Wonder now if he'll be back to getting splinters in his arse

How Maloney hasn’t seen the qualities Lewis brings is baffling. Why he subbed him off when he was by a distance the best player at Hampden more so.

Should have subbed Newell and we might have kept 11 men on the pitch.
