I would doubt women are more emotional than men.

Was hoping he'd been announced there

A Morton-supporting mate sent me his comments over, with some less than complimentary comments about the time his Morton side managed to unemotionally ship 10 goals in 80 minutes.

What an idiotic thing to say, especially when you’re the manager of a woman’s football team. Baffling.

To be fair he has a track record of speaking a lot of drivel about many subjects, not just womens football.

Stupid thing to say but, having watched the highlights, emotions are the least of his worries.

WTF?

Just say no to drugs, I'm hoping this is just a relaunch of this old campaign.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220413/5cde3d6a48e71e8579ff82d9fe515899.jpg

I assume Shiels was speaking emotionally when he said that.

Still a stupid thing to say.

From the guy that went on an emotional rant every week when he was at Killie it’s some claim.

Women don't roll about pretending they are injured they get up and get on with it. What was he thinking? Men get just as emotional if not more.

I’d say men are far more emotional, Whiney babies than women when it comes to football…

Seems a stupid thing to say but perhaps he meant it as a compliment to women ie men can be overemotional rollingabout screaming babies.

I would doubt women are more emotional than men.

Women are physiologically different to men - different hormones and stuff flowing about which can lead to subtly different emotional responses. Not sure about more or less emotional and even less sure if these differences could lead to greater tendency to concede multiple goals one after the other. Shiels has obviously put his foot in his mouth with the way he's expressed himself - but should not be monsterised for theorising about differences of approach to coaching females and males - his job is afterall to get the best out of his charges and that will not necessarilly be achieved by pretending there are no differences where differences do exist.

Interestingly, the females I’ve talked about this to (which admittedly is a sample of 2), argued against me saying he was an idiot for saying that and agreed 100% with him.
