I’ve been very much in the give maloney time camp but that second half yesterday sucked almost every last drop of enthusiasm I had left in me.

However I’ve woken up today with a new sense of optimism. It can’t get any worse can it? Maybe the benefit of the two back to back games is the players and management have it all drawn out for them now. They cannot sink any lower than yesterday. And if they do? This isn’t the job for them.

Let’s face it, we were in no fit shape to be competing in the post split top six. What good would pumping’s off of rangers, Celtic and hearts do? We’d have been the whipping boys.

If, IF we can get through next week (I’ll take a deflected goal and dubious decisions) then we’re in a place to build some momentum going into the final weeks of the season.

Get the loan players out the squad. If they’re not going to be here next season and they’re not performing sit them in the stand. Give the stand outs from the youth team their slot.

The problem is that yesterday was a training game for Hearts. It was absolutely massive for us. If they'd lost they'd have shrugged their shoulders and pointed to the huge points gap between them and 4th. All I feel is even more worried about next week when Hearts actually have something to play for other than pride. They now smell blood. Yesterday was a chance to show them and us that we weren't pushovers. We failed miserably.

I get that. But as professional players, playing at the top level of Scottish football with some having aims to play at a higher level this group should be able to find another level.

They should be embarrassed and ashamed of yesterday and hopefully that can drive them to a result next week.

They should already have been embarrassed and ashamed having to desperately scramble to get top 6. For weeks all we needed was 1 win and they couldn't do it. Then we had them completely capitulate against Hearts. Not sure how embarrassed and ashamed they can be, this genuinely feels like Fenlon's loans (Doherty et al). Loans holding key positions in our team week in week out and getting sympathy because they are young.

Think our loans have no intention of staying at Hibs and it shows. I just hope this is the case as without 100% commitment they are all like Doherty, might have talent but show absolute disrespect for our club. They do not care.

Getting humped off The Rangers and Celtic isn't the point. We could have finished 4th and got a European spot and a good deal more cash than we will finishing 7th-11th. I think we can sink lower with the way SM sets up the team, the stupid subs, 11 back at corners etc. Eventually the sales talk will wear thin and players will not work as hard and we will get worse again. He has tried for months to bang round pegs into square holes and it isn't working. Maloney has went about a transition in the worst way possible and it will probably cost him his job. His signings have been very poor too and that is what worries me most. If he gets the summer window we may have another 7 or 8 lightweights that the next manager will have to get rid off.

Don't think Maloney has made bad signings, most were for the future?
I'm just not sure if Maloney has a future with us at this time???

Clarke looks to be a decent signing, Melkerson may come good in 12-18 months and Mitchell may be ok but the rest won't be regular first team players if we want to be top 4. Rocky poor, Henderson anonymous and lightweight, Jasper lightweight and flatters to deceive. Not sure that is all SM fault though as the signings towards the end of JR tenure were also very poor.

Expectation has never accompanied me since about 1974 - not even in the second tier - hope has been with me always - sadly any hope I had has now disappeared and I am now thinking that if we don’t lose on Saturday by more than 2 goals and stay clear of a relegation playoff then I will be a little content.

Hope has finally killed me - I just want someone or some people to come to me and “roll away the stone” so to speak and get me away from a dark place where I always find myself when the Cabbage are doing badly. I don’t know why it affects me so badly, I can’t explain it to anyone really but with Hibs doing so badly it pains me greatly - the cure seems to be a temporary situation - like a bit of 2016 morphine that wears off fairly quickly.

I love this great club of ours so much that it hurts - but some times I really despise the temporary custodians I.e. players, management and owners.

But my blood runs green and white and we will have our day in the sun again - who knows when.

Bring back Hope at the very least 🙏

You would think that ,but players need coached motivated and played in a system that gets the best out them and played in Their best position , and given tactics
Yes their are loads of mitigating circumstances why we are so poor just now But losing or not winning becomes a habit and to be honest bottom six is where we have been heading for a while but other teams results gave us false hope we could still challenge for Fourth
I am scunnerred with the mess we appear to be in from finishing g third last year
Maybe Maloney will come good after the summer window but I see little to make me think he will There are shade s of Gkass at Aberdeen so we could stick with him and have to empty him before the end of the year That’s the risk we take
We have gone down a model of Taking young players with a view to selling them on for profit Great if that works out but we clearly aren’t in a position to get the best out of young players because of the mess we are in

Very accurate.
