Unseen work

Getting all of the Maloney frustration out the way and reflecting I can’t help but somewhat feeling for him today.
First 20 minutes or so we were really good and got right up against them and won the ball back alot high up the pitch.
Hearts then came back into it and dominated it, it looked like we were going to see it out.
The first goal - In the 46th minute iirc JDH played a brilliant through ball to Cadden who had 2 options - cross it go Mueller/Melkersen in the middle against the 3 backtracking hearts defenders or turn round and keep the ball as he had support. He decides to cut it back to the edge of the hearts box where no Hibs player is within 20 ft of. Hearts break and when Simms first takes his touch he’s on the edge of the box, Hanlon is unbelievably weak and for such an experienced defender to get bullied like that and allow simms to get to where he did is shocking. JDH then comes in and again should be stronger in the tackle, it falls to Halliday who makes no mistakes.
Brutal time to concede and you hope we kick on second half
2nd goal - Set piece which Clarke wins and gets a decent header, Clarke then sprints out to Halliday to close him down and not one of his team mates goes and supports him. JDH is actually left with two at the back post and he doesn’t deal with the crossed ball. The rest of the team just sit back and give Haring the whole of Tynecastle to make a cross.
Amateur defending at best.
3rd goal - A well worked goal and won’t go into too much detail other than the shot should have got closed down a lot quicker.
Now don’t get me wrong Maloney deserves stick for one win in 13, but to defend goals like that is brutal and solely down to the players.
