I don’t think we’ll sack him, I think he will get the summer. Top six was the absolute minimum though, don’t blame people for wanting him gone. I’m not in that camp yet because I believe we will be a lot better next season. If he goes though I understand. We probably be in the same boat under the next manager though.

Hardly an unexpected result given how we have been for weeks now. I didn't see any of the game, but I think the comments of the folk on here who did says it all.

Maloney can point to our ridiculous injury list and reasonably so. But what he needs to justify is pig headedly sticking with a system, style, call it what you will which the players he does have at his disposal are clearly not suited to. How can he, or the board for that matter, look at his record up until now and say, yes we can see it's about to come good? They just can't.

That's my problem now with the bottom 6 up next, will he persist with a system that has so far utterly failed against teams fighting for their lives? ... all it will take for the fear to set in will be for us to lose our first game and St Johnston to win theirs ... then it will be a 5 point gap and the way this team is playing I would only be confident of avoiding 11th place if it was mathematically impossible.

As for next week. That is a one off game and after what by all accounts was something bordering on a capitulation in the second half today not just Maloney but Gary sodding Caldwell and every single player in that team has to come in on Monday morning and resolve to give absolutely everything next Saturday for 90 or 120 minutes, they owe it to every single Hibs fan who was there today and they owe it to the 15,000 or so who have bothered to buy tickets for a game absolutely everything pointed to us losing even before today.

In all honesty we are so bloody toothless up front I wouldn't be sorry to see Josh O'Connor, Ethan Laidlaw, or both, on the bench or even starting next week, how the hell could either of them be worse than James bloody Scott FFS and I'm sorry but I am also now firmly in the camp that says Josh Campbell simply isn't good enough to play in the premier league, F knows why he was given a 4 (?) year contract ... the only bright spot just now is at least Ryan Porteous will be able to play.

Pulling off a result against the odds in this game is our whole season now, it is the only thing that will enable this club and the folk who support it to retain any positivity ..... lose it and not just this season, but the prospect of maintaining season ticket numbers and building any momentum into next season will be right out the window ..... This is is more than a cup semi final. hell it's more than any cup final, I don't care how they do it but Hibs simply have to find a way to win it, because if we lose I don't think I'm overstating things saying it would be close to a catastrophe.

It was right in front of me and he actually did really well initially. I think he then just tried to be too clever and come away with the ball rather than just tackle the boy, even if it meant conceding a corner or whatever. Terrible defending.

In the scottish game you have to have the guys like the Hearts forward here who can compete physically and bounce over defenders, throw in a bit of hard, serial fouling and you win more than you lose.

For all the talk of formations, tactics and so on it all went out the window because of a bit of brute force and a midfielder with a bit willingness to back the play up and have a shot. We have none of that.

If we can be assured of better than Paul then sure, but simply moving on players like our captain isn’t going to work, if not. And I still think he’s fairly far down on our list of problems and lack of quality.

Look where we are now with the squad. Relying on a player of Joe Newall’s standard to have anything about our midfield, and kidding ourselves on that one decent season means we should be playing Christian Doidge who’s struggled to give us a 5/10 since the summer.

I’m more concerned about additions we need - granted players will need moved-on to allow space for new faces, but I think there’s a few further up that shortlist than Hanlon, even if he has been the favoured scapegoat among many for a while now.

Tbh, I'm kinda with this. Focus everything on winning our first post split match, do it, and then give full 90 minutes to those who will be our future. Dabrowski, Hauge, Doig, Melkersen, Clarke and the kids. While I do rate some of our older guys, there is nothing to be learned by playing them in pointless games.
