It’s behind a paywall after a few paragraphs. Can you curt and paste the interview? He mentions Josh O’Connor and in the passing says there are other sons of ex players at the academy.
I would like to hear more from Kean, his arrival seemed to mostly soark discussion around his time at Blackburn, he’s been in post 6 months now, I would be keen (ahem) to read more about his work.

Steven Whitaker’s boy is at Hibs Academy just now too I believe. He’s a 2013 born though which I believe is classed as Pre-academy so there may be others.

Could be wrong but did Thomsons son not recently sign for the Huns academy?

Interesting interview as were others like official Hibs one a couple of months ago and BBC one before he joined us ( November 2021 when he says he`d be unlikely to return to Scotland just befoe he joined us ) . Worked in loads of countries ( fluent in Portuguese ) and comes across very well in interviews . If people can look beyond next 2 weeks / months , we might be on to something really big with someone like him working for us and policy of signing talented young players .

Based on nothing more than my instinct I've doubted his committment to Hibs since day 1. I hope he goes and SDG and/or Daz can take his place.

He doesn’t take the under 18’s. It’s Gareth Evans team, and Eddie May was involved in bringing them through pre Covid

Brilliant we can replace him with 2 people who have zero experience running an academy, superb idea.

Think he meant more to the restructuring of the set up rather than actually taking a team.

I think he came over quite well on the YouTube interview, seemed to have a real passion for it, I hope he stays on there’s a challenge to get a games program up and running for the B Team don’t think a change at this stage will help at all

If Dundee are strapped for cash, they will be looking for a manager without a current contract surely??

Kean has a big impact on the 18s, is in the dug out every game and shouts encouragement etc.

I've no strong feelings on Kean either way in his current role but the time to judge him as a success or failure is probably 2 or 3 years down the line.
Age group teams winning trophies is nice and good for the players but we have seen that before at Hibs. It ultimately means nothing. What constitutes success for the academy at Hibs is players making an impact in the 1st team. It's something we have seen far too little of in the last decade or so.
If Kean can get us to a place where we have 2 or 3 consistently making the step up every couple of seasons he will have done well. If he can't then it's back to the drawing board.
You are never going to get much more than that. By 16 or 17 Hibs have already identified the players who have a chance, most of the rest are there to make up a team so those individuals can get game time.

Hibs have reportedly claimed they have had NO contact from Dundee over Steve Kean.
Kean, the Hibees' academy chief, was yesterday linked with the Dens Park manager's job following the sacking of James McPake and the decision not to keep on Mark McGhee.
The club were relegated to the Championship at the end of the season and are on the hunt for a new boss to try and take them straight back to the top flight next term.
Kean was linked to the post but now, according to the Edinburgh Evening News, Hibs have rubbished suggestions that there has been any contact made from Dundee to poach their director from his position.
The coach previously managed Blackburn Rovers for a spell and has had staff positions at the likes of Real Sociedad so he is highly thought

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have come here. So I am very happy. But you never know if something could happen in the future.

The Record also says
"Steve Kean says he can't rule out leaving Hibs if a chance to return to management arises. But he insists he's happy at Easter Road for now and is focused on his role as academy director".
Hardly hinting that he wants out of Hibs. He's needed to bring on the development team, an area where we have made significant investment.

While I don't disagree with most it's a bit unfair to say other forums would be more likely to flag as trolling, other forums I've visited seem far worse than Hibs.net, to the point it's impossible to tell who is trolling and who is not. At least when it happens here it's fairly obvious.

I listened to the Steve Kean interview on Saturday. Unfortunately it’s not on the podcast
He spoke about the development team playing at under 23 level rather than playing in the Lowland league
Says the players can play for the development team on a Tuesday afternoon or evening, and be available for the 1st team on the Saturday if required
We’ve got 113 players in our academy, including the sons of Brown, Whittaker and Thomson
He was really pushed by the presenter re looking for a managers job, but said he was more than happy at Hibs, but like he’s everything else, you never say never

Aye I was quite shocked when he came here for the job he's doing, I remember him being assistant at a few big clubs, then manager of Blackburn for a couple of years. I had a look just now He managed some Brunei team and won The Singapore league and the league cup with them, when I clicked on the team they've played and won the Brunei League and cup a few times, Singaporre S League and played in the Malaysian top league and the team won a cup their too, wonder what the away attendances are like lol.
He then managed the Brunei National team too, I didn't hear much about him after Blackburn until Australia, wonder what made him want acadamy job here.

I'm pretty sure it would've been discussed when we hired him.
